You would expect the first female Doctor to stick around a bit longer than this, if nothing else to make sure this major change is not immediately rejected by fans and producers alike.

The fascists around here can rejoice, as the next Doctor will almost certainly be a white male, which will automatically make the series better.

damnitt!!!!! She has been great so far. Maybe not on the level of Tom Baker or David Tennant, but I like her. :(

Power to the people comrade.

Hmmm...if a male DR metamorhasizes into a female does that make the Dr transgender? Are those pesky Darleks and Cybermen still around?

I'll take comfort in the fact that the article only supplies rumours and conjecture. Personally, I think Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill are doing admirable jobs considering the writing quality of the stories this season. Doctor Who really shines when it has season long story arcs, which this season is badly lacking.

Having said that, I know I am an atypical fan because I never saw the appeal of Tennant and my top 3 Doctors are Baker, Eccelston and Pertwee.

The first Dr Who aired in the 60s. There was a movie over here Dr Who and the Daleks.

It was always a campy tongue in cheek show. That is what made it entertaining. Must be hard to find something new. Same thing with Red Dwarf. A great show in the first run. They ran out of gags and twists and situations.
