Dump question: but why are Wikileaks and the Russians so desperate to elect Trump?

They'd prefer not to have war. they can't afford a major one.

What evidence led you to believe they are desperate?

I don't think there is any evidence they are desperate. Sure...you've been told they are...but is there any evidence of anything except they woild prefer better relations with the USA.

Some of the more extreme folk there are giving threats to elect Trump.

Putin ally tells Americans: vote Trump or face nuclear war

But there is no evidence those in charge are desperate.

I find it hard to believe that Trump, who is rather nonchalant about using nuclear weapons and wants to get rid of the Geneva Conventions because they're a "problem", isn't a threat to cause a world war.
Trump will not be a nuclear threat to anybody because Obama will keep these keys.

Is there confirmation of this?

The Clinton-Obama administration was responsible for collecting DNA of foreign diplomats and leaders, poisoning world leaders, and giving them cancer through some very advanced science, far more advanced than what the Russians have. So, of course, they're afraid! Donald Drumpf on the other hand and his crazy cronies would be incapable of being any kind of advanced threat. He represents the traditional unscientific conservatives. Doesn't even believe in global warming...

Hillary wants to clone Lavrov and make him her secretary of state? You have to admit that guy is pretty good diplomat. Imagine Lavlov versus his clone? That would be freaky.

Russia - easy question; but what does WikiLeaks have to gain?

While Wikileaks started out with a good idea it has turned into simply being anti-American.

The notion of anti-Americanism, or anti-Stalinism are totalitarian concepts. Fit for totalitarian clowns.

What people oppose are the violent and destructive actions by the US which is resulting in misery for millions all over the world.

As they should.

Sorry, but Wikiputinleaks has lost all credibility as a movement for peace by siding with the Russians and encouraging war.

What makes you think Wikileaks are trying to elect Donald Trump? What saves Donald Trump from Wikileaks is that fact that there's not a whole lot left to leak. It's all out there already. I think Wikileaks are just sharing what they've got. I think it would be dangerous for Wikileaks to sit on stuff given to them, because they favour a candidate. That would look really bad. Remember, anonymous people give Wikileaks information, so that Wikileaks should leak it. It wouldn't be hard for those anonymous sharers to take Wikileak down (if Wikileaks didn't share)

That doesn't make this totalitarian phrase "anti-Americanism" something real.

Russia - easy question; but what does WikiLeaks have to gain?

It would make WikiLeaks a major player, which they currently are not (their oct surprise has been a snooze so far). People everywhere hoping to influence events by leaking would first think of WikiLeaks.

I think you're confusing wikileaks with Hillary Clinton about encouraging war.

I wouldn't call wikileaks a movement. It's Assange and a handful of his pals most likely. And given the suspicions that they might be working for Russians, do you think any potential "leaker" who has sensitive info that would put Russia in a bad light would reveal his identity to Assange? That could explain why the leaks seem so one-sided.

I don't like the editorial spin that wikileaks puts into the leaks. It should be a platform for anonymously publishing leaked documents, and that's it. Let the others do the interpretation.

Everything Wikileaks releases can be examined and anybody can draw their own conclusion.

The amount of secrecy carried out by governments is a hindrance to democracy. And as we see in the leaks it has more to do with preventing embarrassment and to carry out criminal policies in secret than for any issue of possible harm.

If you don't know what your government is doing you have no idea if you support it or not.

You are making the faulty assumption that they are non-political. Clearly they are in bed with the far right republicans.

The problem is with what they have chosen to leak. When they leaked a technical manual on an anti-IED device that showed their true colors. There's nothing political in that, the only reason to leak it is to harm American and coalition troops.

Just because you consider this a laudable thing doesn't make it political rather than combatant.

1) Documents can be edited.

2) They can be selective about what they choose to release. Truthful but incomplete data can convey a very false picture.

Ya, you can't have wiileaks criticizing governments for selectively deciding what information to hide or release for political purposes while simultaneously selectively deciding what information to hide of release for political purposes.

Dump it all and let people sift through it on their own without a predetermined context or don't bother.
