The GOP are all in for Trump. This became apparent when Rep. Nunes pulled a massive publicity stunt, via coordination with the White House in claiming that US Intelligence inappropriately spied on the Trump Transition team. A lie so damning, that he had to "recuse" himself, at least for a bit, from the investigation. Oddly enough, this was a repeat of the Trump lie early in his administration. No evidence was presented then or by Nunes.
Now, we are getting too close to the tipping point. There is this "secret memo" out there that Republicans say will kill the Russian Collusion investigation, indicating that US Intelligence inappropriately spied on the Trump Campaign. Sounds familiar, doesn't it. The difference with this claim, however, is that many Republicans are speaking on it, very publicly. Despite the fact they won't let anyone else read it. Based on the public claims, it sounds like the document doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, but spun in a new light to discredit the FBI.
The FBI has asked for access to this document, but their requests have been denied. Some Republicans are demanding its release, others want Trump to make the choice, a few are warning about the hyperbole of the claims being made. So again, no evidence is provided in this case. They keep going to the same well, repeating the same lie, to the point it is folk truth to the Trump base. And it is bad enough when a President does it, but when a large portion of the party begins doing it, we start heading in a direction we can no longer come back from.

article said:Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, who compiled the memo based on classified intelligence, voted last week to allow other members of Congress to read copies in a secure room in the Capitol. Several GOP lawmakers who have seen the memo have publicly declared its contents serious enough to warrant firing or even jailing some officials, and conservative news outlets have demanded its release.
