Wow, De Santis is revoltingly racist.....

Rep. Ron DeSantis’ claims that he’s no racist just got a little more difficult for him to defend. Immediately after becoming Florida’s Republican gubernatorial nominee, DeSantis called his black opponent, Andrew Gillum, “articulate” and urged voters not to “monkey this up” by electing Gillum. Now we learn that DeSantis spoke at a conferenceorganized by notorious racist David Horowitz—not once, but four times.
At the David Horowitz Freedom Center conferences, DeSantis was on the program with people like Steve Bannon, Sebastian Gorka, and a host of vile, racist right-wing media personalities. But while DeSantis didn’t control the full slate of speakers, he chose to speak at a David Horowitz event four times and to say, in 2015, that “David has done such great work and I’ve been an admirer. I’ve been to these conferences in the past but I’ve been a big admirer of an organization that shoots straight, tells the American people the truth and is standing up for the right thing.” This, friends, is David Horowitz:
Another recent Horowitz tweet said: “Black Africans enslaved black Africans. America freed them sacrificing 350k mainly white Union lives. American blacks are richer, more privileged, freer than blacks anywhere in the world, including all black run countries.”
In yet another, he shared a Fox News story about a Dallas man arrested after reportedly traveling to Washington to kill “all white police” at the White House. “Meanwhile, the country’s only serious race war — against whites — continues,” Horowitz wrote.
Ron DeSantis chose to link himself to that “great work.” He’s “an admirer.” He likes that Horowitz “tells the American people the truth.”
Ron DeSantis already told us he was a racist with “monkey this up.” If you didn’t believe him that time, here’s another chance to acknowledge reality.

David Horowitz a "notorious racist"? Methinks you need to lay off DailyKos. Kos makes Breitbart look middle of the road.

Mr. Horowitz is the kind of conservative that the deplorables feel is intelligent. While not as overt as David Duke and his ilk, he does have demonstrated written history of bilious bigoted writings.

And, this report simply provides more evidence that DeSantis is a bigoted asswipe.

“Black Africans enslaved black Africans. America freed them sacrificing 350k mainly white Union lives. American blacks are richer, more privileged, freer than blacks anywhere in the world, including all black run countries.”

This is partially correct, though incredibly politically incorrect. Many black Africans DID enslave black Africans, many white Americans did die in a war that was in part to free black slaves in America, and most American black people are much richer, more privileged, and freer than many black people around the world. It is true that had the ancestors of many black people in America not been enslaved and brought over to America, and had they mated with the same people, and still been born, they would in fact live a much rougher life in that scenario than they actually live in America. They DO benefit from their ancestors' slavery. Of course what he leaves out is that some Americans DID also enslave black Africans, most participated in a slave economy without much objection, most looked down on black people as less than human, many DID fight a war to keep blacks enslaved, and many Americans STILL DO look down on black people as lesser today.

The latter points most definitely should carry any argument, but they don't make the former points cease to exist. They're still true, and you don't need to be a racist to see that they are true.
