Ford or Chevrolet?

If this were a Pepsi or Coke thread, I wouldn't ask which do you prefer. You might be in the mood for a change and for the moment prefer the other--or maybe neither. It could be that life has thrown you a curveball and overtime your tastes have changed and what you identify as your favorite may be in question even to yourself. However, the galactic battle has come (!), and the fate of the world now rests in your hands. You don't get a third option. Fate has it that aliens from worlds close and afar will learn of the binary choice being put to you.

You and an alien will be driving seperate but identical vehicles from an undisclosed year in the past, and not unlike a cross country cannonball run, people from the world over will be watching the two of you race to see who gets to maintain (or attain) the rights to our planet. You don't get to factor in odds. The choice of vehicles have been predetermined.

What you'll be remembered for are 3 things: 1) whether you won, 2) whether you the Earthling has saved our planet from alien invasion, and 3) you'll be forever etched in history as the one who made the final decision about which make vehicle (Ford or Chevrolet) that you have chosen to represent our planet during what has been called The Great Universal Crisis.

I'd be driving a Ford (with a Pepsi in hand). What say you?

For some reason I feel compelled to respond to this.

I'm currently on my 3rd Ford vehicle. My first was a '98 Mustang convertible that I bought on the day my divorce was final in 2001.

In 2013, my first ever new car purchase was a 2014 Mustang convertible. Tuxedo black. I got the friends and family discount because I knew the guy who owned the dealership.

Late 2016, a drunk driver snatched that car out from under me. As fate would have it, there was a 2015 black convertible for sale at my dealer friend's lot the week after my accident. He held it for me until the insurance check arrived, and I got a great deal.

A convertible Mustang is a helluva car. Even the slowest ones (like mine) are pretty fast, and driving around with the top down never gets old.
