The Fox and Friends to Trump Pipeline | Ed Brayton
It hasn’t been difficult to notice the pattern where Trump watches Fox and Friends, gets all fired up over a story — usually a dishonest one — and then immediately fires off a tweet about it, or adopts a position advocated on the show virtually verbatim within minutes of hearing it. Here’s a video with 30 instances of that happening.

There have been multiple reports that this is so glaring that his advisers, when competing with one another for his attention and trying to get him to adopt their position, schedule interviews on that show and on Hannity or Pirro’s shows because they know that if Trump hears it on Fox, he almost automatically believes it. This is no way to run a country, for crying out loud. It’s an absolute embarrassment.

Remarkable how slavishly he follows it. Why does he find it more convincing than his aides talking to him in person? He does not like to read, and he likes his briefing books to be full of pictures, but this seems grotesque.

Why? It's because it's what Putin told him to do.

In 1980, there was a Kurt Russel movie titled "Used Cars." In this movie, President Jimmie Carter is addressing the nation on TV, when characters hack into the Network feed and present a commercial for their used car lot. They shoot cars and blow cars up to illustrate how they are blowing up high prices. Of course it's shot on a competitor's car lot, but that's not the point.

If they could hack into the White House television system in 1908, it shouldn't be too difficult to reverse the process and hack into Fox and Friends feed into the White House in 2018. National policy could be steered in any direction. All we need is a petite blonde in a tight jacket and a nice bit of cleavage. Problem solved.

John Oliver has been doing it for a while, placing ads on shows like Hannity to communicate to Trump:
