I couldn't find any other threads about this, so thought I'd mention it here. I've just learned that the British scholar George Wells died back in January at the age of 90. He was noted (and detested by some!) for his controversial series of books which argued that Jesus was entirely, or at least mostly, a mythical character. Richard Carrier and Earl Doherty were influenced by his work.
