Glenn Frey, a founding member of the rock band the Eagles, has died at 67, a publicist for the band has confirmed.

"Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia," reads a post on the band's official website.

I feel bad for musicians that don't get threads and news articles.

It would be an old style phonebook sized tome with all new names every year. I've played in bands some incredibly talented musicians who do it because they love it and are completely fine with their obscurity.

The Eagles were a group I could respect, but not feel much affection for.

I am curious about that documentary about them, History of the Eagles, though. It's supposed to be good. Anyone see it?

Yes,and yes.

Watched an hour...pretty good...coupla things

The live clips sound as if they've been cleaned up. I don't like that.

The interview type things from the old days aren't terribly interesting....they're selling themselves as they should, but the later stuff s far more interesting IMO.

Great band, more talented technically but less visionary than CSN.

I could do with fewer old interview type moments.

Not many bands broke up and had such success individually. Probably only Genesis has managed as such, which is odd seeing that the band wasn't nearly as mainstream popular as The Eagles, but individually moved well into the pop music scene.
