There is no such thing as "globalism".
There is the US dominated oppressive capitalist system that has branches in many nations.
Agreed. Thank god for the US Seals to keep Belgium and Switzerland in line!
Nations submit to the US dominated system when a few in their nation are doing as well with the system as a few do in the US.
It is a system of domination and control by elites.
It has no connection to general freedom or democracy.
North Korea: Free, strong, independent.
On a more serious note, if we look at the 10 most globalized countries of 2018 (note that the US doesn't make it to that list), i.e Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, France, UK, Germany, and Finland, would you consider them bad places to live? What would your proposed alternative country be?
I recall that Noam Chomsky declared Bolivia as the most democratic country in the world. In the real world, Bolivia has serious human rights and democratic issues:
Bolivia: Events of 2017
Impunity for violent crime and human rights violations remains a serious problem in Bolivia. The administration of President Evo Morales has created a hostile environment for human rights defenders that undermines their ability to work independently.
Fighting for Democracy: A Lesson From Bolivia
Evo Morales has done remarkable things for his country. But now, he is rejecting term limits—and Bolivians are taking to the streets to stand up for the rule of law.
The
Democracy Index has four levels, Full democracy, Flawed democracy, Hybrid regime, and Authoritarian, with Norway ranked at the top, North Korea at the bottom. Bolivia is considered to be a hybrid regime.
Contrary to Chomsky's assertion, Bolivia can't reasonably be considered the most democratic country in the world.
