India's so-called "cow protection gangs" display antithetical qualities to the ones they attribute to their sacred animal - they are unholy, ungentle, frenzied and violent.

According to data analytics site India Spend, 45 people were killed in 120 cases of cow-related violence reported across India between 2012 and 2018. The highest number of violent incidents were recorded in the state of Uttar Pradesh, with 19 verified incidents of cow-related violence resulting in 11 deaths.

Huh.
Idaho raised, when i hear "cow-related violence" i think of getting kicked in the gut while trying to free one of the damned things from a barbed wire fence.

Yeah. Amazing how cows can kick sideways with their hind legs. Horses are much more gentlemanly with theirs.

It’s amazing how complicated I make things, especially after just waking up and read an exerpt of such an atrociously written piece.

What’s the message?

1) you don’t like my cow, so I kick your ass!

2) I don’t like your cow, so I kick your ass!

3) you don’t like me, so you kick my cows ass

4) cows pissed off and they’re kicking everyone’s ass!

Again, Just woke up. It doesn’t take long for my mind to generate a list of permutations not to be excluded from all possibilities as I reinterpret what I’m reading on the go.

After three minutes of WTF, I’m pretty sure one of you out there would enjoy joining me in a few minutes of silence, as we sit by the grill, while the steaks smoke and fill the air with an aroma that may somewhere in some foreign land beget some cow-violence. On that note, cheers and a toast to tastiness.

I know what you mean. When I saw the phrase, "cow-related violence", the first thing that came to mind was a Gary Larson cartoon. I thought of something like a gang of biker cows roaring into town on their Harleys and terrorizing the citizens.

I love Larson's twisted sense of humor... an example;

Wikipedia says that cow-protection vigilante groups have sprung up in 'hundreds, perhaps thousands' of northern Indian villages, and that their attacks have caused at least 28 deaths, most of the victims being Muslim.
The obvious analogy in America is Eric Rudolph and his ilk in the violent pro-life groups.
Violent natures + religious zealotry = plain old homicide

Thanks for returning us to the OP/ My fault really that we strayed: Keith&Co derailed us and I continued the derail;

But yes, the message is that all religions are created by their human inventors, whatever the label says , Jew, Xtian, Muslim, Hindu Buddhist (look at Myanmar). lt is the human nature of the members that comes through. Hate and violence is everywhere, differing only in intensity with time and opportunity. And it is most virulent towards the "other", especially when the other and "the One" are in close contact.
