How does thought work?

I do worry about toilet paper, though.

Yeah, I know, I know.

Seeing as the thread has been completely derailed*, I'll mention a fascinating tv show I saw last night about the brain by David Eagleman. In this episode he showed videos of a 4 yr old girl who was having brain seizures that would eventually cause her death. In order to save her life they needed to cut out the effected areas of her brain, which turned out to be one entire hemisphere! They showed her several years later at about 12 and he said she was completely normal except for a slight physical weakness on one side. She was bright and enjoyed doing math quizes, enjoyed sports, and got along fine with friends. It was an extreme example of how plastic the brain is, especially in a young child. You might say we're born with a backup brain in case of early injury.

*Not blaming anyone in particular. But you know who you are.
