Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Online Killboard
Kill Russians. Take out their equipment. Earn points for more drones and equipment.
Individual drone units can then order what they need for their particular situation in a Amazon-like decentralized marketplace.
Further, drone units can post up what they need and manufacturers can work to provide it. Drone units then test and evaluate this new equipment/modifications in the field and provide feedback so all know what works and what doesn't. Drone units are getting requests filled in as little as a week. This is how it works when designers, manufacturers, and operators all work together.
Ukrainians have brought best business practices to the battlefield. They are scary good at what they are doing. For better and for worse, they have made a game of it. Necessity will do that. General Petraeus says if Ukraine can market this quickly, they will become the arsenal of democracy.
I cannot overstate the importance of unmanned forces. It truly does need to be it's own force under the DoD. It is antiquating our current military capabilities and we had better move fast. This Unmanned Air Force needs fast procurement from any and all companies that can provide, immediate software and hardware updates, and basic training for operators that have nothing to do with traditional boot camp.
The more I'm reading about this the more it looks like Ukraine doesn't just have the cards to play, it looks like they've got the winning hand. They are teaching the world the future of warfare.
Can Russia respond with such efficiency? Not a fucking chance. Russia's government is such an entrenched kleptocracy, that any attempt to break the corrupt relationship with those that provide for Russia's military would in my opinion bring about the collapse of the government. Moreover, the manufacturing just isn't there, not on this level, not at this pace, and not with this much international support. And remember, no small percentage of Russia's talent hauled ass out of the country in the early days of the war. So that's come back to bit them in the ass.
All this has greatly improved Ukraine's performance in the field, creating kill zones where Russians fear to tread. Did you know there was a Russian spring offensive? Yeah, me neither. I haven't been keeping up but I guess it failed spectacularly. What I'm reading now is Russia can no longer press into service the numbers they are losing in the field. That's a problem. Putin will have some big decisions to make.
Fresh off the YouTube yesterday evening, here General Petraeus speaks in detail on just what Ukraine is doing to win this war. He starts in specifically about Ukraine at about 13:40 but it's all worth a listen.
