So I saw this TED talk about how Youtube is damaging children. TED is usually sensible. But this just strikes me as "But think of the children" alarmism. I'm drawing the exact opposite conclusion. It trains children not to blindly trust, but to question. The antidote to fake news. Because I think we can all agree that adults suck at it

Thoughts?

Another person whining about the youth being corrupted. This argument has gotten really old and tiring. Wonder how many adults who say this have skeletons in their closet.

Love TED talks but didn't watch something that is, as you say "alarmism". It reminds me of when parents declared Rock'n'Roll to be Devil music and "damaging children".

I find TED talks pretty much like life in general; some are damned interesting, some informative, some pushing an agenda, some funny, some drivel.

Please post the links to any funny ones you like.

Agreed on your summation.

Oh, I could add one more category to the kinds of TED I've seen. I have seen two that were nothing but sales pitches.

But to the funny ones, I've seen a few but the only one I can think of off hand is this one by James Veitch:

LOL That was good and I'll have to try it myself. The idea of wasting the spammer's time is a good one.

I would watch the Ted talker, but he's on youtube. No thanks.
