Campus Rape Policies Get a New Look as the Accused Get DeVos’s Ear

Dismantling due process rights for male students accused of rape is one of the biggest blunders of the Obama administration, and the policy needs to be reversed.

In other "rape hoax" news, Columbia settled with Emma "Matress Girl" Sulkowitz's victim and Matress Girl herself donated maximum abmount to a Democratic Congressional canddiate and has a new BDSM "art" performance.

Sulkowicz's performance at the Whitney Museum in New York City involves an older bearded man tying her up, beating her with his belt, and asking audience members if they want to slap her.
Too bad I only found out about it now. I'd love to slap her! Any chance she'll take the show on the road?

She argues the performance is about an "intense questioning of art and politics."
I am sure it is. I am sure it has nothing to do with you getting off on it.

"[I chose] to have a white man tie me up while wearing a business suit with a Whitney necktie, while I wear a Whitney ISP thong bikini," Sulkowicz said. The man is a "close friend" and trained dominatrix, she said.
"Dominatrix" is a female form of the word. The guy would be a dominator.
What the hell did she learn in her 4 years at Columbia?
Female viewers have been so concerned that they have requested a "trigger warning" before the performance.
LMAO!

I wonder if the girl in the "Team Emma" t-shirt is the one who got triggered. She looks rather upset at the proceedings.

Emma goes on to dis white artists forgetting that she herself is half-white and that the only reason anybody knows or cares about her "art" is that she falsely accused a guy of rape.

In the interest of Fair and Balanced .... Basu: DeVos, education officials shouldn't play politics with campus rape http://www.desmoinesregister.com/st.../rekha-basu/2017/07/21/educational/496154001/

....Candice Jackson suggested to The New York Times that 90 percent of campus sexual-assault investigations are instigated by vindictive former girlfriends after getting drunk, having consensual sex and later breaking up with the alleged culprits.

Jackson has apologized and her boss, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, forgave her. But surely someone in her job would know better than to buy into vengeful ex-girlfriend stereotypes put out by accused men. She also would know from the Obama doctrine she's charged with enforcing that sexual consent cannot be considered granted by someone who's drunk. Statistics show false rape allegations account for only 2 percent to 10 percent of the total, according to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.

Jackson has even called women accusing President Donald Trump of assault and harassment "fake victims" — hardly the language you'd expect of someone in charge of compliance against sexual assault and harassment. .....

If memory serves, admittedly mine is beginning to fail, the most frequent retort coming from frat parties was "bang her, bang her, then bang her again boys".

Arguing for due process and against expelling innocent male students harldy makes one whiney or privileged.

Nothing about radical feminists is fair and they are certainly mentally unbalanced.

Teh Obama administration played politics by implementing their policy. Restoring status quo ante is not "playing politics".
The author Rekkha BAsu ignores the dismantling of due process by the Obama policies, the lowered burden of proof, the inability of accused students to mount a rigorous defense, the equating of "being drunk" with "inability to consent" but only for females and other disturbing things going on at these kangaroo tribunals.

suggested to The New York Times that 90 percent of campus sexual-assault investigations are instigated by vindictive former girlfriends after getting drunk, having consensual sex and later breaking up with the alleged culprits.

I do not know if it is 90% or not, but several well publicized cases of innocent men getting expelled were just that - two people having sex, some time later the girl decides that she was "raped" and gets the man expelled without any evidence that any rape occured. See Amherst. See Occidental. See UVA. See Vassar. See UGA. See UND (North Dakota). These miscarriages of justice are sufficient reason to deep six this failed policy.

If society is sexually unfair then there is no problem for me to claim those who are clothed in privilege need be stripped down to thrashable wear. Doing otherwise is just plain repressive.

read the editorial. Statistic, verifiable, indicate between 2 and 10% are claims by vindictive persons. Additionally only about 25% of assaults are even reported. So, as above I'm very willing to set aside some of my privilege with the intent of creating a more level field tilting toward better justice.

You appear to be making the squeaky noises of tiny handed, loud mouthed, variety IMHO. I, OTOH, look to be wearing shiny armor of the righteous.

Politicians often apologize for pointing out the emperor's attire. Thus the fact that she apologized doesn't prove anything. Now, I don't think her numbers are supported (the one study that came up with numbers that high was iffy) but that doesn't say whether they are right or wrong.

1) She was talking about campus assaults, not all assaults. Thus using statistics about the overall false reporting rate is not a rebuttal.

2) When I look at the home page of the National Sexual Violence Resource Center I find a big thing about campus rape. That makes me very suspicious.

3) That report doesn't provide anything resembling a proper evaluation of the existing research. Furthermore, one of their three examples (by far the lowest number) isn't in the US at all and thus isn't relevant in the first place as false reporting is very much a cultural thing.

4) Checking the references I find a bunch of them are from anti-rape organizations. This feels very much like they're listening to their own echo chamber. Here's a pretty good article on why we don't have a good number: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2014-09-19/how-many-rape-reports-are-false

5) Another good bit giving a low bound number: http://www.nationalreview.com/corne...alse-stat-extremely-misleading-jason-richwine

In a world full of injustice it is always a wonder why some are so enthralled with very minor problems but ignore the big ones.

The big problem is all the men getting away with rape and physical abuse.

That is the huge corrosive problem in society.

Are you talking about the odd alliance between feminists and islamists?

The whining and false accusations we hear from feminists in the west while they ignore or make excuses for what men are doing to women in the east?

What false accusations?

Most rapes are not even reported.

False accusations of rape are a tiny percentage of all estimated rapes.

And no feminists defend misogyny in the East.

You[re not trying to infer feminists are forgiving genital mutilation, honor killing, and forced marriage of 10 year old girls to the highest bidder are you? If not you sholud make that clear.

Rape even though it is less terrible than murder has a special taboo about it that murder does not have.

You can go to Bestgore.com and Documentingreality.com and see people being murdered with chainsaws in Mexico - not just people dying in no fault accidents. But they don't show footage of rapes. I wonder if it actually illegal to show it.

Perhaps don't want rape fetishists to have wank material.

Perhaps you could explain what this has fuckall to do with the actual topic of the thread?

You need only read the text quoted that I was responding to. I gave a parallel example of being enthralled with minor (and even non-existing) problems while ignoring much bigger ones.

These people obsess over imagined gender pay gaps and intentionally inflated rape statistics in the west, deflecting some valid points Derec has made (even if he overstates them), etc, while celebrating people like Linda Sasour and defending rapists due to cultural sensitivity.

The feminist-islamist alliance is the oddest thing, and it is hard to imagine an alliance more detrimental to one side.

No administration is wholly bad - Hitler loved children and flowers. Trump is probably harder to like, but I'm sure he has some good qualities that are being kept from us by the wicked media!

More of Derec's public outrage masturbation. This is getting disgusting, Derec. We don't need to see this constant parade of you getting your demonization rocks off. Do you think your own deep pleasure is not apparent in your posts? I know it's the cool thing these days to get off on gratuitous hatred, but there are other discussion boards more appropriate for your private gratification. (Hint: they are mostly found on the deep web, but you probably already know about those.)
