So, a friend is extolling the greatness of her latest video game purchase. It's so life-like! But games aren't like life. Games have rules unique to the game. I can't go through an office picking up everything that's not nailed down. Conversations aren't menu driven. Games are games. If they were life-like, we'd already know the rules.

However: it would be cool if we could reverse the polarity on the comment.

To paraphrase someone else's comment:
If life were like a video game, the laser printer could be set to stun.

And the shredder would be a ranged weapon.

Thanx.

IF life were like a game:
Sustained dependable performance would get you the next level, not carpal tunnel syndrome

In marathons, runners would pick up life packets and would finish stronger than they began.

Dramatic triumphal music would play every time you put something away without breaking it.

Whenever you finished writing a report there would be a dramatic, slow-motion zoom on the final sentence.

No matter how far you run, how much you jump or how far you jump down from a ledge you'd never fatigue or get injured. And ammo would be laying around everywhere for you to collect.

This would be more common
