Immigration Policy - What Should Be Done

In the news about 1.8 million people have been apprehended crossing the border and 300,000 have been allowed to stay pending court appearnce to here a plea for asylum.
...
The United States, who has used and taken advantage of immigrant and illegal immigrant labor for over a century. It is time we accept that this exists and that we take advantage of it.. even today. It is time to stop the childish denial, it is time to stop being so damn naïve.

Immigration shouldn't be an endless stream of people... but 300,000 is not an endless stream of people. We can deal with that if some of us stopped acting like ignorant sots. The solution to the problem is money. These people provide a huge source of cheap labor for jobs us American folk don't want. So we should thank them for doing it, by first stop ignoring what services they do provide!
We are clearly not ignoring the services they provide; neither are we treating 300,000 as if it were an endless stream of people. We give out a million green cards a year! So lose the overblown rhetoric. If you want to stop the damn naivete, tell the enforcement opponents to stop pretending the at least 1.8 million coming here illegally each year wouldn't become a lot more numerous in the absence of border controls, and to stop pretending being geographically positioned to walk to the U.S. gives someone a better claim on residency than the millions of Africans and Asians who'd leap at an invitation to live here.

Yes we have and do ignore what illegals do. For one they do not pay taxes, that alone is an issue.

Genrtions born of illegals and who function like any other citizen certainly deserve a path to citizenship.

It has been kicked down the road administration after administration on both sides. Out of sight out of mind.

What the left ignore are the negatives of illegal immigration. There are gangs and crime. Here in Seattle a sancuray city tere have been violent illigals sent back to Mexico who show up again.

Were not a global welfare state.

With a sensible and ordered immigration system at the border we wouid not have the issue at the border.

The economy is still chnging. Fast food companies are introducing robots to cook food. Agriculture is getting more automtion.

The old paradigm was come in at the bottom, your kuds get a public education, and have a chance to move up. The jobs that emlpoyed all immgrants when I was a kid are largely gone.
