You have got to love these guys.

And here's why

August 3, 2014 - Juan Williams calls out Heritage CEO Jim Demint for ginning up "all-white" impeachment supporters. Meanwhile, Rep. Steve King begs Obama not to "make [Republicans] impeach him.

Steve King's plea is a little like an abusive husband telling his spouse not to make him beat her, but that is representative of the extremists in charge of the Republican party right now.

There is a pattern illustrated in all of these calls for impeachment, and it all goes back to Floyd Brown's explanation. Impeachment to Republicans is political, not legal. If you don't like something your ideological opponent does, shout "Impeach!"

No shit.

The impeachment of Clinton was pure politics.

I believe his "high crime" was an affair.

His high crime was lying about an affair.

Obama's crime is even more grievous. He has a D next to his name!

Since when is lying about affairs a mater of the state?

If the president was driving and went over the speed limit, a violation of the law, is that a high crime as well?

Ask Newt and Ken Starr. It was a witch hunt. He would have won a third term if it was allowed.

No. It's his proposal to implement the new round of amnesty through executive order, with no input by the Congress.
What you do is take a case to the Supreme Court to decide if the president overstepped.

Impeachment over such trivial nonsense is pure politics.

He lied in his Grand Jury testimony.

Only if a Democrat is driving. What still gets me is that Obama continued a national surveillance program which is grossly unconstitutional... yet almost not a peep from Republicans about it.

Congress has indicated it has no interest in passing legislation in general. The Republicans have made immigration a staple of their platform, yet they haven't been able to pass legislation on immigration with either a majority in the House or even when they had majorities in all houses and the White House.

Obama has been making with Executive Orders because, as anyone who has been paying attention, Congress refuses to work with him. They will continue obstructing or passing legislation with whacky details that can't possibly get to the White House for signing.

Funny, that's what the House is doing over another matter (Obamacare implementation) and the Left is ridiculing them for it. Can't you get your talking points straight?

Impeachment over such trivial nonsense is pure politics.

I did not say they should impeach him. I am saying that should it happen (very unlikely anyway) it would not be merely because he has a D after his name, as suggested by Jimmy Higgins in a previous post (which I was replying to).

well, surveillance make the GOP hot. They like that.

Where in the constitution is the president allowed to bypass the Congress if they won't pass his legislation?

This is why there are limits on Executive Orders. Obama isn't making full out declarations that go in the face of the Constitution.

What is ironic is that what the Republicans have been doing since '09 isn't "unconstitutional", it is grossly unpatriotic and unethical. So we are left with the paradox of a man being impeached for trying to do his job verses a Congress that can't be impeached for not doing their job.

Let me get this straight.

I am now responsible for "ridicule" from people I've never met? Funny, I always thought I only had to defend my own positions.

My point was that this is trivial nonsense. Care to comment?

Where in the Constitution is the president allowed to go to war without a Declaration of War from the Congress, minus a military attack?

With regards to immigration, Congress won't even pass their own legislation. The GOP led House had a bill. They deliberately killed it rather than risk having it actually pass.

What they're doing is pure bullshit politics. First they accuse him of being weak on immigration. Then they tie his hands by holding back legislation that he might sign because then they would be complicit in a solution and be accused of working with the President.

If he does nothing, they crow about how he's being ineffective. If he takes whatever limited action is allowed under the Constitution (and the Executive does have some authority in this regard) then they accuse him of usurping power and threaten to impeach.

Backed into a corner, Obama did something the GOP didn't expect: He called them on their bullshit. He's basically said "here's what I'm going to do. Don't like it? Go ahead, impeach me."

Took him almost six years to find his balls, but he finally did.
