Any one here ever done this?

The current version of LibreOffice is inconsistent with the latest version of Java and I understanding that because of a licensing issue with Java the situation may not be corrected.

I have 10 years of data in LibreOffice base and have a working around.

I down loaded an older vsrision of Java and that works.

However, I am worried about the future.

I have had years of experience with MS Access but have never tried importing data from LibreOffice base to MS Access.

I don't want to buy a copy of Access unless I know I can import my data.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try switching to Apache OpenOffice.

I went from Libre to Apache, Apache seems better maintained.

Save a file from both Libre and MS Access and open as text with notepad and compare.

I have both OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

The Java upgrade affected both of them the same way.

For now they are both operating on the older version of Java that I down loaded from an archive.

For safety I backed up a copy of the install file in case I need it in the future.

I used Base in the distant past but not recently.

I downloaded JRE. The Libre Base works, Apache does not not.

I would assume as long as Libre, MS, or Apache conform to the same open document format importing to Access should work.
