Apparently the houris did not attract him

Furquan Sheikh, a class 10 student, was thrashed near his house in the suburban town of Mumbra, located 40km from Mumbai. The boy's family was reportedly approached a few days back by the four maulvis (Islamic clerics) asking him to join 'holy war' in Syria and Iraq being fought by Sunni militants.

The four reportedly even came to the boy's house telling his parents that the boy would be trained properly and would get to live in foreign lands. The family, however, is said to have politely refused the offer.
On 26 January, the four clerics, who are members of the local mosque ganged up on the teenager along with two other men and beat him up mercilessly. The six even threw stones and broke the glass windshield of the car belonging to Furquan's father.
They accused the boy and his family of not being true Muslims as they refused to join the Islamic State (ISIS). They reportedly even tried to drag the boy through the streets into the mosque to make him recite Quran, to prove his faith.

The most amazing thing to me was that this was not played up more in national news about patriotism of Indian muslims and I am hearing it only now; then I realized the local muslim citizens had registered a case with the police for hurting the sentiments of minority community with a false story. I just have to ask ---
so ISIS are real muslims and criticizing them is hurting islamic sentiments? or an Indian muslim showing off he is not like the ISIS hurts it?

Anyone who disagrees with the 'one true faith' is seen as a threat to that faith. Depending on the particular culture and individual, the reaction may just be a feeling of mild uneasiness, which is easily brushed aside by assuming that it's just the ignorance of the skeptic that does not allow him/her to see the shining truth of faith, or at the extreme, resorting to physical violence in order to rid oneself of the threat.

If joining ISIS is true mark of real Islam, why weren't these Islamic clowns not in Iraq fighting for ISIS? And will they be arrested for their pro-terrorist activities?

That's a good point. These guys do seem to be the chickenhawks of the Islamic terrorist movement. They're all tough and brave when they gang up to wail on a teenaged boy, but they have managed to find a way to be a few thousand miles from the nearest battlefield.

ISIS don't like non-muslims and in general don't like most muslims. They are an extremist wing of an extremist wing. Better off calling them a fractal than a religion.

Why? That's like not calling the Jonestown suicide cult a religion. Just because they're a weird religion that doesn't like most other religions doesn't make them any less of a religion.

They are clerics, not fighters. Fighting, killing, and dying in a holy war is not their responsibility. They have a creed to preach after all.
