Jared Kushner: The stockpiles are for us

If only the states were stockpiling masks in previous years in case of a pandemic, they wouldn't be begging Trump for masks. Look at NY. Instead of using money to buy masks years ago, they used money to build lavish entertainment centers instead. Now, they blame Trump.

*sigh*

It's like a kid wasting all his money during the week then asking his parents for more money on the weekend. The parents ask, "Why did you waste your money during the week instead of saving it for the weekend?" The kid then screams at the parents.

It is obvious to the most casual observer that having individual states each creating a stockpile is an achingly stupid use of public effort.

Everyone else knows that but you and the Tump family.

Wait, so if every single state had a mass stockpile of masks right now, you guys would be saying, "Boy, that is so stupid!"

That would be very heartless to the victims.

Nope, that is not at all what I said or what we would say.

Which is obvious.

The purpose of the national stockpile is that you don’t know where the greatest need will be or when. So you have a central stockpile that is managed by a competent administration and they send it to the place it is needed first while creating more stock for the future places.

What’s true is that if Oklahoma had a huge stockpile and low case load while NY was dying, I would indeed say “That is stupid.”

Jared Kushner did such a stellar job with the Middle-East peace plan that I have no doubt he will do just as well handling this crisis. In fact, he could use the same plan for SARS-CoV-2 and see how it works out:

1) Corona gets everything it wants.
2) Survivors could build tunnels or bridges to move between isolated areas that are not ravaged by the virus.
3) Anyone who disagrees is a whiny bitch who won't get a better deal next time.

"Us" doesn't seem to mean the states, so what else does it mean? All I can think of is the GOP and the elites that support it.
A charitable interpretation is that the "us" refers to the federal government (i.e. that the federal gov't gets to decide who gets the material). Now, clearly that would mean that the federal gov't decides which states and/or localities receive the goods, so it was a pretty fucking stupid thing to say out loud.

It's adorable you think a global pandemic should fall under state responsibility and not federal. States shouldn't be stockpiling any more than they should be having their own private military.

You might want to take this time when everything is on lockdown studying a civics course.

Slimeball Kushner will likely move to Israel in the next ten years. How I loathe him.

I am just wondering how long it can be before Trump and Kushner are hanging from lampposts like the Mussolinis they so closely resemble.

Damn, I resisted posting the same thing. Well ,not exactly the same, I had Saddam Hussein in mind. I understand Trump is just old and insane, but are people around him that stupid?

Too many people are making some sweet bank behind the scenes for Pandishah Emporeror Trump being isolated like the Mussolinis. Look at the job McConnell landed for his wife or Kelly's gig after he resigned from being Chief of Staff to name just a couple. I suspect a Bastille Day moment is required for this ship to be righted.

Meh, nothing isolates like failure. The crowd that applauded your coronation is the same crowd that will applaud your execution. It's just a matter of time.

Here's hoping. And in case you are wondering if you are living in 2020 or 1984:

STRATEGIC NATIONAL STOCKPILE WEBSITE CHANGES AFTER JARED KUSHNER'S CONTROVERSIAL CLAIM IT WAS NOT FOR STATES' USE

Officials at the Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday changed the website for the Strategic National Stockpile so its mission statement matched a controversial claim made by Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser.

So because the guy who failed his security clearance fucked up, an organization has to rewrite history on what its purpose actually is. This is considered leadership by some people.

First, your response has nothing to do with my point--I'm specifically referring to the identity of "us".

Anyway, emergency stockpiles should be federal. It's cheaper to have one federal stockpile than 50 state stockpiles.

But that's just it. Nothing -- NOTHING -- can spoil the love affair the Trumpsters are having with their chubby orange suitor. He can speak like an absolute traitor (Helsinki) and the old hardline anti-Commos don't desert him. He can be caught on a hot mic talking like an Andrew Dice Clay wannabe (Access Hollywood) and pay off a porn star and Playboy model he raw-dogged and spew cuss words in tweets and on rally stages, and the evangelicals still insist that God put him in office. He proves his ignorance and total intellectual laziness every time he does an interview. He shows a petty, sadistic personality in his constant name-calling. No amount of evidence of his poor leadership in the present crisis is likely to affect his numbers, I think. (Maybe, if we pay a truly crushing economic price, this would change -- that would be only fair.) I was enraged to see that stupid Jared doing a press conference. What an amazing young man, to have solutions on the way for the Mideast and the corona virus crisis. I'm quite sure the Trumpsters love it when people like me are enraged by Trump World. I remember a friend of mine, back in '16, appalling me with the comment, "I'm voting for Trump. I want to see how he stirs things up." Well, that he did. We are the most stirred-up we've ever been.

It's okay everyone. Trump has clarified this discrepancy:

Fuck, I wish I didn't have family living in the States right now.
