Kasich to End Run For President

Well, I guess that running fourth in a two-man race finally became as embarrassing to him as it was for everyone else thinking about him. OK ... I can't back that up ... there was nobody who was actually ever thinking about him.

But, holy crap, the next six months are going to be as funny as all hell. I don't have much praise for Americans, but they certainly know how to entertain people.

Now if only Hillary would do the sensible thing and drop out we could move on to the general...

The marching orders from the GOP are in. Trump or bust.

Trump-Clinton 2016!

I'm still thinking they're going to back a 3rd-party candidate, if only to bring voters out to try to save their Congressional majorities. Lots of (R)'s are going to stay home because they can't stomach either candidate.

According to Huffington Post, there is a desperate campaign from some GOP members to find a third party candidate to run for president. They aren't finding any takers to actually run though. Snort and giggle! The stench of political panic.

I would think they'd understand there is no one to fill that roll. In general, all the other crazies that Trump supporters would back would have flamed out by now. This year, there is no Establishment candidate that can get any traction with this party. Running a third party candidate could also backfire severely, as Trump voters may not vote for people in Congress.

So far Trump has outperformed all expectations given him in the mainstream press; I don't think it's a good idea to underestimate him. I think that the Democrats would be wise to consider him a threat.

I don't think that the Republicans are going to run a 3rd party candidate, they'll give Trump support to some degree, but I think they'll definitely focus on keeping control of the Senate. I don't think that the House will be in play, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was. If Secretary Clinton can win the Presidency & the Democrats can control the Senate, she can at least make a little incremental progress to the political left by her judicial appointments. If it's President Clinton and a Democratic Senate, I want older left leaning judges/justices to retire so that Clinton can replace them with younger left leaning judges.

They can't run a third party candidate because they're dependant on his supporters in the mid to long term. That said, I don't see the Ds going further left. The left has no alternate choice - I see them going after the Rockefeller Rs and using that as an avenue to gain ground in Congress.

Personal convictions aside, Dirty Fucking Hippies can't sustain their own party and they're not going to form a coalition with the hard right for obvious reasons.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if I was wrong, but that's the strategy I'd play.

Mainstream press? How about anyone that has paid attention to politics in the last 50 years?! Trump's success is unprecedented. George Wallace ran under a third party.

They are losing the senate. They can't hold it. What they don't want to have happen, however, is to lose the House or give up a super majority in the Senate!

The smart money is on Clinton. But the small voice in the back of the head says W was elected in '04 and Trump seems to have a way with people. But can minorities have that short of a memory? I don't think so. Hispanics are registering to vote in record numbers. Trump said a lot of shit that some white people love, but the minorities, especially Hispanics probably won't forget. That alone should (I emphasize "should") drown him in the general election. But I don't want to win in '16. I want to crush Trump in '16 and kill this Toddler Tea Party movement in the Republican Party. This is your guy, he got crushed, go crawl back under a rock you fucks.

This is what makes me worry about the Democrats underestimating Trump. I don't expect him to do well with minorities and unmarried women, what will turn out look like for the anti-Hillary people? That remains to be seen.

Trump has yet to have his name truly dragged through the mud because the other Republicans had to hold back to some degree. There is no doubt that Hillary's campaign has more than enough mud to drown that freaky orange fuck in ten times over.

Fraud: real, actual scienter stuff.
Bankruptcies: this has been mentioned before, but the focus will sharpen. What hasn't been shown with any regularity is Donald Trump hawking his shitty products that later failed miserably.
Women: does anyone think this motherfucker was faithful to his wives? I have faith that more than one woman is going to come out and tell the world about what a creep he is.
Minorities: enough said.
General Fuckery: this dude has said so much shit in public about so many things, he couldn't answer for them all if he had a year straight, every day for 8 hours a day to explain them.

And this campaign has already gone negative. Hillary Clinton didn't come this far to lose to this motherfucker by trying to run a clean campaign. There is no pretense of a respectable and above board run. It's gonna go filthy fast.

I don't think older judges will retire just so Hillary Clinton can appoint new left leaning judges, for the most part. On the supreme court she will have a chance to appoint several. But due to GOP intransigence, there are at least 63 vacant federal judgeships. If Hillary wins, she will battle that, but I doubt the GOP can hold out on that for another 4 years, especially if she calls them on that from day one, and makes it a mid-term election issue. This is an issue Trump may raise. And may well offer to appoint only right winged conservative judges if elected.

Since Trump has already stated he would let Jim DeMint's Heritage Foundation pick SC justices, that has already started up as an issue.

The Senate will indeed probably flip Democratic if Hillary wins. All the Democrats needs is to get 4 more seats, but 10 are now in play. Trump may not have coat tails.
