Why one might think that religious people have persecuted LGBT's from time immemorial, burning them at the stake and opposing every civil rights progress they’ve made.

I’m not gay, but I am an anti religious bigot. I’m also an anti fascist bigot. And an anti KKK bigot. The sooner they all go away the better.

They aren't expressing complaints over religious identity, but over a specific, bigoted, and easily-reversible position that the organization is taking about its screening process. Both Samaritan's Purse and the protestors are in the moral wrong, as both are delaying or suspending the availability of much-needed medical resources over a question of ideological disagreement.

By the way, one is not "an LGBT" any more than one is "a Christian Right"; LGBTQIA+ is an informal political alliance of people united by common experience of discrimination and need, not a personal identity. At least, so it used to be, and I prefer it that way. It seems infantile to me to think that people need to be blended into a homogenous group in order to work together on something important.

Unless "bigot" means intolerance of other's immoral objectively harmful bigoted actions, then being against Samaritan's Purse is not bigoted.

However, they are merely adding to and not taking the place of any other potential life-saving help desperately needed. Thus, while it is fine to note the fact that this organization is bigoted and spreads hate, doing anything to try and block or delay them providing help in this context is selfish grandstanding and itself immoral.

This can be a problem with activists organizations built around specific causes. Their myopic focus on their mission, even when noble, can sometimes make them blind to context and inappropriately apply their boiler-plate reactions in a destructive way.
