Los Angeles Bans Bullhooks and Other Devices Used to Control Elephants

Great. So, now there's a bunch of uncontrolled elephants running around the streets of LA. Great job, libtards!

Sounds like more empty headed meaningless nonsense that will do nothing to impact animal cruelty.

Anything can be used to harm an elephant and bullhooks are properly used in ways that do not harm them.
In July, L.A. Animal Services conducted 25 hours of inspections of Ringling Bros.' appearance at Staples Center [which uses bullhooks all the time] and "at no time did it find any violations or problems with any animal," Albert said. Also, a veterinarian hired by the department "found no signs of abuse or improper use of guides."
IOW, their own investigation showed no evidence of a relationship between bullhooks and mistreatment, so they banned the bullhooks. Brilliant.

During the hearing, Councilman Paul Koretz said he did his own investigation about circus practices before asking the council to take action. He played a video showing a young elephant hogtied in a pen during training sessions.

Ah, so they banned ropes? No??? Ah, so they used video of an elephant being hogtied as evidence to ban a tool having nothing to do with them being hogtied.
Pure idiocy. Why didn't they just show video of child sex slaves. That would have been equally relevant. Surprised they didn't show clips of Dumbo at the hearing.
