Man Opens Fire On Good Samaritans Trying To Help Him In Snowstorm

You can't legally carry while drunk. He had to have been illegally carrying.

Well, that doesn't make any sense. You're allowed to legally carry your gun into places like restaurants and bars which serve alcohol, but not legally carry it out after you've had a few drinks?

Leaving your gun behind in a bar full of drunk people is dangerous. That's a silly law.

They need a designated carrier.

It depends on the location whether you can even enter the place while carrying. You're certainly not allowed to have a drink while carrying. Just because a place serves alcohol doesn't mean you have to drink it. I've been in most all the local casinos at one time or another--all serve tons of alcohol, never once have I had a drink there.

Isn't that the toddler's job?

Just wondering if he was a Responsible Gun Owner TM before he was not, as so many turn out to be.

Or, if the guy you are trying to help is belligerent, just back off and say nothing, move to a safe distance and call the Cops without drawing the attention of belligerent motorist and wait till the Cops arrive.

I'm not seeing anything in the original story that says the victims were not trying to do exactly that.

Hard to tell what the exact details of the incident are, the exact timing or exactly what was said by whom.

My comment was just a description of a response to any such incident and not necessarily to that one in particular.

Despite fast's fantasy scenario.

I took fast's description being a plausible description of the delusional thinking that drives that kind of response, and not necessarily a detailed description of what actually happened.

The world is full of similar incidents, luckily most not that extreme. We have a problem with ambulance medics being assaulted by the very people they are trying to help. Not only by the person they are attending to, but bystanders, friends and relatives of the patient.

Prisons, for example, are full of guys with delusional pecking order, macho pissing contest, get out of my face or I'll smash you chips on the shoulders attitude, fully prepared to resort to violence for any perceived infraction of their 'code of conduct' - just as fast described.
