The operative words in Derec's response are "Who cares?"
He certainly doesn't, and a lot of people who rail against these refugees/migrants don't either, because they consider the people from sub-Saharan Africa or the Middle East to be slightly less than human. The appropriate motto is not one of a bar at closing time, but a lunch counter in the American South from over a half century ago:
Whites only.
Is that insensitive? Racist? Just plain wrong? Yes, but Derec says "who cares?" It isn't like they're actual people. No, they're sinister swarthy types hell-bent on destroying the racial purity of glorious Europe. IF they die in transit on the way, who cares? If they get put on a boat back to whatever swarthy region they came from and the boat sinks, who cares? That kid face down on the beach? Who fucking cares? It's just a brown kid. Probably was going to grow up to be a terrorist just like all those Muslims.
It is the oldest trick in the book. Dehumanize them and spread fear. Whether it is based in any kind of reality is irrelevant, because the sad fact is that it works.
Is there any way you can actually reply on topic? Once again your response is basically unrelated to what I said.

The "who cares" referred to those mass migrants (vast majority of whom are economic migrants) who are deported or rejected from entry in the first place.
Europe is experiencing millions of people wanting to come in illegally. EU can't afford to care about all of them, much less to care for all of them.
No, they are not "less than human". At the same time, they can't all be allowed to enter EU/Europe willy nilly, no matter who they are, how many they are, and how many more will be encouraged by their success to get it.
Ford, you do not just let anybody come into your home, much less a large number of anybodys. Does that mean you think them less than human?
Bullshit. I have never proposed immigration into Europe be closed to non-whites. At the same time I have proposed mass migration be opposed no matter their color.
You are very narrow in your thinking and you cannot comprehend that something like immigration that works on smaller scale will work just as well at a much larger scale. That, of course, is nonsense. Mass migration is disastrous for the host country.
They are actual people. That doesn't mean they have the right to go wherever they want, just like I do not have the right to come to your home and help myself to whatever is in your fridge. Much less to invite a few dozen others to do the same.
The policy to pick up mass migrants off the coast of Libya and bring them all to Europe is merely encouraging hundreds of thousands more mass migrants. That leads to more deaths in transit. If this migration route was shut down, as should have happened years ago, these deaths would not occur. Perversely, it is this aiding and abetting of mass migration that is causing more migrant deaths.
The boats usually sink while these migrants are trying to get to Europe. I am not advocating sinking any boats full of people (empty boats should be destroyed though) or killing anybody. But at the same time, illegal migrant crossings into Europe should be discouraged, not encouraged. The current policy of tolerating this mass migration and allowing the NGO fleets to aid the smugglers is merely encouraging more and more mass migration, which is why Mediterranean boat crossings increased 30% compared to same time last year.

You need to do something about that obsession with that color. And he died because his parents tried to reach Europe even though they were in a safe country (Turkey). They were not fleeing war in Syria at the time, they were trying to migrate for economic reasons. It is impossible for Europe to allow everybody who wants to come in to come in. That's why they are trying to get in illegally, and it is high time to shut down the migration routes. Had the parents not attempted the crossing in the first place, Alan would have been alive and well.
It's not about dehumanizing anybody. At the same time, they do not have the right to go wherever they want and mass migration is indeed a dangerous thing and must not be allowed.
Regular immigration is very different from mass migration.

If Europe is taking all these boat migranst no matter how many NGOs pick up off the coast of Libya, then "unlimited" is the correct word to use.
Europe is paying a lot of foreign aid to African and Asian countries. But what about the responsibility of African and Asian countries themselves?
They are able to survive there. But maybe they should practice some more family planning instead of having as many children as possible.

That strategy would apply to people picked up off the coast of Libya. Those people should be brought back to Libya, not brought to Europe. They left the Libyan coast mere hours earlier, not years before. That would not only mean fewer migrants reaching Europe, but would also mean that prospective migrants would be discouraged and thus the total number of attempted migrants would plummet. As opposed to the current policy of helping them reach Europe which encourages more migration, leading the migrant numbers to explode.
As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
If they left hours before, they should. They should also definitely take Moroccans who are trying to migrate. And if they don't play ball, EU should impose sanctions. Time for kid gloves is long past.
As I said, if they don't play ball EU should apply pressure through economic sanctions and withholding of aid.
No, it is more complicated than that of course. But at the same time EU must start doing something other than counterproductive tacit encouragement of mass migration.
And throwing away your papers must not become a surefire way to be able to get into Europe and stay in Europe forever. Because that would only mean that more and more migrants will adopt that tactic.
One way to combat that is to make the life as an illegal difficult. No social services, difficulty to obtain jobs (and heavy penalties for companies who hire illegals). That would not only make current illegals more likely to give up and go home, it would make those who think about illegally migrating think twice or thrice.
If you make it easy to be an illegal in Europe (like US is doing for illegal Mexicans, giving them driver's licenses, instate tuition and in California even student loans) that will only encourage more mass migration. Time for Europe to say: no more Mr. Nice Guy.

It's madness! No sane country should allow such levels of mass migration. Australia did the right thing and blocked boat migration and thus boat migrants no longer attempt to get in.

1) Why do sole proprietors not do vastly better than workers in the same profession??
2) Naked and Afraid They have free resources, generally have skills, they have no bosses or taxes. Should be utopia by your standards--yet I'm not aware of any contestants that were able to maintain body weight.
