On national television, we all saw him steal a trip to the NBA Finals from Cleveland.

His words in this case may be valid, but I wouldn't hitch my wagon the the ethical purity of Jordan lest someone bring up his $200 sneakers he aggressively markets while creating an artificial very limited supply to generate hysteria that has led to thousands of crimes and many deaths, especially among black youths.

Jordan also didn't say "White Lives Matter".
Jordan is a living shoe. What he donated to "the cause" would amount to about 20 bucks in my wallet. He has too much money.
His bootlegged shoes cause small wars in China, America, Taiwan, and the list goes on. I know of people around here who get shot at for selling them from the trunk of their cars.
The problem with Michael Jordan is bad on the surface and even worse down where it matters. Materialism is what Jordans are about, and Jordans are what Michael is about. His shiny red and white series-1 Jordans were the beginning of the end. You may remember begging or being begged for a pair back in the 80's. Ever since those came out, shoes have been more of a status symbol than education is. Those shoes greatly contributed to the "hood rich" mentality, making some black lives no bigger than their shoe collection.
Though he is a superhuman athlete and a sweet acting character, he is a sweatshop running, hood destroying menace in reality.The interview should have been a public apology for the turmoil his shoes have caused in the world.
The most famous black American should be Neil deGrasse right now. Yet the most famous blacks still consist of a dead pedophile, a few rapists and a slave-driving shoe pimp. Oh and the most recent black people to be filmed dying. Those black people get a lot of hits. Very famous.
If black lives are going to matter, shoe burnings will have to occur. It will be a purifying and symbolic deed. Past attempts to raise the shoe issue by throwing them over power lines failed. Shoe lust got people electrocuted. This time, the shoes will have to be burned as a fad - at first. Maybe make a silly game out of it for Youtubers. Mass shoe burnings would be a start huh.
