Last week, I uncovered new evidence that Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh misled the Senate during his earlier hearings for the D.C. Circuit Court by minimizing and even denying his involvement in Bush-era controversies. I gave him the opportunity to correct his testimony at his hearing last week; he chose instead to double down.

I make no claim that Kavanaugh is a bad person. But when his prior confirmation to our nation’s “second highest court” was in jeopardy, he repeatedly misled the Senate when the truth might have placed that job out of reach.

Well, it helps to set a precedent for the legal opinion that committing perjury is not a big deal. With charges against Trump forthcoming, that's an important precedent to establish.

For a quick summation of what happened, Manny Miranda, an employee of Sen. Orrin Hatch(R), watched a senate IT staffer log into the IT system and got his login credentials. Using those credentials, he got access to Democrats emails and started spreading them around to other Republican staffers and operatives, including Brett Kavanaugh.

During both of Kavanaugh's senate confirmation hearings in 2004 and 2006 for his position on the DC Appeals Court, Kavanaugh denied having ever been involved in the email scandal, saying all he knew of the issue was what he got from the news media and he never saw any of the stolen documents. He stated this multiple times during both hearings.

Now emails have emerged from during this period that show Miranda sending these documents CC'd to Brett Kavanaugh and Kavanaugh responding to at least one the emails. Senator Patrick Leahy(D) has shown this email during Kavanaugh's recent testimony. Leahy was allowed to display the email because it contained a draft letter written by Leahy, a draft shared before it had been completed and made public. Senator Leahy claims there are six more emails that show Kavanaugh received stolen Democratic emails that the Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley(R) has classified Confidential so they cannot be released. Leahy claims these emails do not contain personal information or government secrets and that there is no reason these documents be declared confidential.

This is pretty damning evidence that Kavanaugh is has committed perjury multiple times and Republican's are trying to cover it up.

Yes, but he's from the Party of Personal Responsibility, so he should not face any consequences of repeated acts of perjury.

Remember, conservatives believe in Objective Morality instead of moral relativism like those horrible libtards, so they believe that things are good or evil based on who does them, not based on what is done. That's because conservolibertarians are morally superior.
