It seems even in the holiest of holiest place for muslims, the Masjid al Haram in Mecca, women are not safe for sexual predators.

Started by Egyptian-American : Mona Eltahawy after a Pakistani woman complained about it. (retracted since then)

Usual reactions are blaming the victim for being western islamophobic agents. And obviously pressurizing them to keep silent.
Muslims look bad if this comes out, you know

I always wondered why so many Saudis want to rebuild the mosque in Mecca with gender separated areas for worship.

Its unavoidable that this happens, I only wonder if its a frequent occurrence.

While this should be front page news in all Gulf Newspapers, it is very quiet there. Opening of the very first cinema in Saudi is getting more coverage.

Wait, a place where women are seen as chattel who exist to serve men had a problem with sexual harassment? That's the most shocking news I've heard since I discovered that the sandwich shop in my building had sandwiches for sale.
