My View on Implementing Democracy

In a democracy, the focus is on defending those who cannot defend themselves: children and the elderly. The rest of us citizens will manage somehow, as long as we work together.

But if the people are lazy, uneducated, easily influenced by outsiders, and don’t understand that democracy must be defended every single day, then democracy will one day vanish like smoke into the air.

At school, we are taught (everywhere in the world?) that freedom was achieved in the year XXXX and that’s when democracy was established in the country. If we believe that it’s like a package ordered from Amazon, something that we own forever, then danger is lurking just around the corner.
