This is pretty cool. That shot is the first time they led the whole game. Plus, I didn't hear anybody taking about them going into the playoffs, despite their strong finish to the season. And few gave them a shot in this game or series. A fantastic postseason run so far.

 
Yeah it was pretty spectacular. My wife and I are rooting for OKC, but an Indianapolis win would be OK because we like their coach, Rick Carlisle, who took our team to its only championship. In any case, this series gives the lie to the conspiracy theory that the NBA rigs the finals so it only includes large-market teams.
 
So, it is the next season, but I don't know if I care enough to justify starting a new thread. I learned some things recently.

Lonzo Ball was on the Cavs. Had no idea.
Cleveland traded for Harden. I needed to double check if there was another Harden that could have been, but it is the overly bearded one.
Cleveland traded gave away two draft picks and Lonzo Ball who is expected to be waived by the team he was just traded to.

I know James Harden is very good, but I lack the chops in having a clue if the Cavs are good enough to make a run for the Eastern Final or even the NBA finals.

Also... Lonzo Ball was on the Cavs?!
 
As trade day nears, the Mavericks finally got rid of their 60 million dollar liability, Anthony Davis. The aging, injury-prone superstar was virtually the only thing the Mavs got in exchange for the generational player Luca Doncic. The GM who engineered that fiasco, Nico Harrison, has since been fired, thank goodness. The Mavs didn't get much from the Wizards, in terms of players, in exchange for Davis, but they got cap room and five draft picks as well.

B - Neither did he.
For some indiscernible reason, the Cavs power structure thought giving up an excellent defensive player in Issac Okoro for Lonzo Ball was a good idea. Even when Ball did play, he sucked. They got rid of him just to save ten million. I guess Dan Gilbert is two levels over the salary cap and paying through the nose for it.
We traded away Darius Garland for James Harden. Garland is excellent but often injured (not good considering he's only 26) and occasionally runs cold on offense. I think what scared the Cavs with Garland is while he is repeatedly out with a big toe issue, more recently he developed an issue with the other big toe, you know, the one on the other foot, so the Cavs put both big toes on the market.
A healthy Harden should work well with Donovan Mitchell who's always on his game.

Harden is a HoF'er, but I'm reminded of another similar trade back in '09. Granted, I think the Cavs are on better footing than then, but Harden is just one year younger than O'Neal was. And I remember rolling my eyes at the O'Neal trade because here we have one of the best players ever in the game... and for support they get him an aged HoF'er who is past his prime. Players are better now longevity wise, 15 years later, but Harden is 36. Hopefully his court performance is better than his "experience" because experience alone doesn't put points on the board or grab rebounds or fake fouls, court time does.
