Split New York City Mayoral Race

To notify a split thread.
Such pathetic, bigoted mewling. Why does it bother you if he eats with his hands?
He was born in Kampala, Uganda, and spent a year in Cape Town before moving to the U.S.
He has lived in NYC since he was 7. But in that video he pretends to have grown up in the third world to justify his third world politics on issues such as Islam, Palestine and socialism.

But I noticed you have not commented on that second video I posted. The video where he explicitly states that he is unapologetic about his socialism and that one of his goals is to "seize the means of production"?
I will post it again:

Will you comment on it now, or will you just babble about cheap shawarma?
So? Do you seriously think the mayor of the financial capital of the world is going to accomplish that goal?

Tomorrow I think I’ll get the falafel pita or plate from one of the local halal carts. 😋 Since falafel is vegan, that helps me reduce meat intake, and plus, Derec can’t bitch about ritual halal slaughter or imám prayers, though of course it will tick him off that I am supporting my wonderful halal vendors. :)
I love falafels. That is what I always get when we eat at a Mediterranean restaurant. I also feel guilty when I eat meat. Still, I do feed canned dog food that has meat in it to my fur babies as I doubt they would do well on an all vegan diet. They do love vegetables, and rice, but they don't eat it with their paws. They don't use a fork either, despite being in some ways more civilized than humans. :giggle:

When I buy meat, I only buy the type that claims to be humanely raised, although it can be hard to find beef with that label. But I do eat chicken out about once a week and I don't know how that chicken was raised. We all can at least cut way back on our meat intake for health and environmental reasons. We did evolve as omnivores, so I doubt we will all give up all sources of meat. I just wish all animals that were eaten were raised and slaughtered humanely.

I would support Mamdani if I lived in NYC. Plus, regardless of his plans, he will never accomplish them all. Democrats, unlike Republicans aren't sheep who fall in line when their leader wants to pass some type of legislation. I don't know why someone who doesn't live in NYC is so upset over a candidate he sees as too far left. Derec should be more concerned about the city he lives in. The city I lived in ran a candidate for mayor who identified as a socialist and she lost by a huge margin. No surprise since the city is quite conservative. What in the world was she thinking? It's one thing to be a Democratic Socialist in a blue city but quite something else in a red city. Perhaps a more moderate Democrat could have won the election if they had ideas that appealed to voters.

Dogs basically need meat. They can and do eat fruits and vegetables, but they don’t have to eat anything but meat.

I have several doggie friends I feed sometimes. They all like meat but will frequently turn up their noses at vegetables. One refuses to eat green beans, though green beans are good for dogs.

I’m starting to eat more stuff like vegan power bowls, falafel, Greek salads and Greek yogurt. Love the olives and feta cheese in the Greek salads.

I don’t think I could ever go totally vegan because I love cheese so much.

I am trying to entirely eliminate fish, but unfortunately my local supermarket constantly offers salmon in their steam table, and nothing tastes better to me than salmon. :sadcheer:

Dogs do mostly eat meat, but there is evidence that they also need some grains and/or veggies. This is because they evolved from wolves and wolves ate the intestines of their prey, which had undigested vegetables and grains or vegetables in them. At least that is what I've read in at least one of the many books that I've read about dogs. The canned dog food I use has vegetables in it and it's highly rated. One of my dogs love broccoli and the other one prefers carrots. There are some fruits and I think there might be one or two veggies that aren't good for dogs. Grapes are known to be the most harmful.. Broccoli is supposed to be one of the best vegetables for dogs and humans. My dogs will also eat squash, zucchini and asparagus.

It's hard to give up salmon. I get that.

My schools weren't terribly posh, but they were pretty upscale.
Yeah, we ate our French fries with our hands. It's the culture around here. Never occurred to anyone to eat them any other way.
Tom
French fries are not rice.
True.
Growing up in NYC over 60 years ago, I was taught the proper way to eat french fries was with a fork. Pizza as well.

Those manners didn’t stick with me. When we moved to St Louis, they dissipated.
Why in the everliving fuck would new workers go to the trouble of making a pizza variety that is clearly supposed to be folded in half and eaten like a hot dog with a fork?

Did you learn to eat hot dogs with a fork too, you heathen?
Hot dogs in a bun, no. Hot dogs sans bun, yes.
What kinda fucked up psycho eats hot dogs without a bun?!?

Salmon is very healthy but I’d prefer to give it up because of the suffering of fish that eating it entails.

Whenever I know I will be feeding my doggie fiends I always try to get something good for me and them. The individual components of Greek salad are great for dogs, but not the stuff if it is marinated in: garlic, onions, etc. So I don’t do Greek salad when I know I have to feed a dog.

And my doggie friends love salmon as much as I do. 😋

Mine do too. I get what you said about the salmon suffering. Too bad we didn’t evolve to be vegans. I’ve read that when early humans started eating meat, brain development increased. Not sure that was for the best. Must have been all that extra protein. I guess.

Dude, if I could put salmon on tap in my home, I would die a fat lard whose body was literally exploded by fish consumption. It's like my greatest weakness.

A child served one. My memory is pretty dim on this, but we were out of buns and some of us refused to use sliced bread.

Ugh... Strait to baby jail.

The kind who buy hot dogs in packages of 12 and buns in packages of 10...
Typically it's 10 dogs and 8 buns. So 5 bags of buns and 4 packages of dogs and you'll break even, in a fucked up sort of way.

And there's no shame in making some beanie-weenie with the leftover dogs. A little fresh red onion and a bit of hot sauce. (y)

Yeah, but at that point it's not "hotdogs", it's beenie weenies.

He might not be able to accomplish it, but he still could do a lot of damage trying.
Furthermore, NYC is the biggest city in the US and therefore has an outside influence in the country as a whole.
Some commentators are already seeing Cardamom as the future of the Democratic Party.
Examples:
Democrats must embrace Mamdani as their party’s future
Mamdani’s Massive Victory Should Show Democrats Where the Party’s Future Lies
That is scary. One insane major political party is already too much. We do not need Democrats to follow suit.

Let me ask you something though. If a candidate for mayor in a major city did a video where he or she openly embraced fascism, would you be this sanguine about it? Would you ask "so?"? I think not. Not in a million years! So why is Mandani's embrace of Marxist ideas ok with you?

Will you comment on it now, or will you just babble about cheap shawarma?
🥱
I guess, that's a no. Not surprised really. PACO. "Pood always chickens out" when he runs out of arguments. Which is sooner than one would think.

I also noticed you have not commented on my reply to your claim that Muslim societies are morally superior to "white Anglo-Christian Americans" which you detest as much as you simp for Muslims.

[Zohran's Platform]
It may sound nice on the surface, but it is completely unrealistic.
Especially the government grocery stores idea.
Why? There are numerous food deserts in New York. Why should a profit motive be the only means of getting food to poor people?

Since I never claimed that, you are making a total fool of yourself as usual. When someone as nice as @southernhybrid puts you on ignore, you should take a look in the mirror and ask some hard questions about yourself.

DACO: “Derec always craps out.”

Charlie Kirk seems to have an unusual interest in Mamdani's ass.
