Officer that shot Dontre Hamilton 14 times and killing him not to be charged

There is such an inherent appearance of a conflict of interest when the local DA is in charge of such cases, it makes sense to have a special prosecutor. At least the Milwaukee Chief of Police fired this killer for violating departmental policy in his interaction with Mr. Williams.

wtf?

Officer Manney listened to the voice mail message from Acting Sergeant Cameron at approximately 3:30 p.m. and called dispatch to ask if there was an assignment related to Red Arrow park. When told there was not, he requested that he be recorded as responding to a trouble with subject at that location, resulting in the encounter with Hamilton.

So Manney created this whole situation. Two other officers had showed up twice, determined Hamilton was doing nothing wrong and left. Then Manney gets himself interjected into the situation which ends up with a dead Hamilton.

But no, no charges should have been filed.

At least in this case, the officer did at least get attacked. He royally fucked up procedure though, which is one of the prime reasons why he ended up in the situation he did.

Again, a situation where an officer instigates the situation further, instead of cooling stuff down.

Mental institutes need to be reinstated, but that takes money and may not happen.

Why do police officers think they can walk up to anyone and put their hands all over our bodies? What happened to the 4th amendment?

Try patting down a police officer you think might be breaking the law and you get arrested for assault in nothing flat. ;)

Cops are above the law. This is a problem, and needs to be fixed. The decent cops know this, and agree.

And you can tell that by all the times that they arrest their fellow officers for assault and the like when they cross the line.
