FBI officials confirmed on Wednesday that they had surrounded the remaining militants occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Reserve in Oregon.

According to the Oregonian, authorities have said no shots were fired against the group as of 6 p.m. local time. They have asked the militants to leave the grounds with their hands up and unarmed.
The confrontation started after one of the militants rode an ATV around the barricades set up outside the refuge. At one point, Fiore joined the group in a prayer while urging them to stay calm. But one of the remaining occupiers, 27-year-old David Fry, can be heard at several points throughout the broadcast yelling at authorities.

Looks like the end is nye. The noose tightens.

Drop a couple mortar bombs where they can see them. Then after a trial, hang them all for sedition. That is the way to deter others.

According to the article at the Oregonian they're facing a maximum of 6 years in prison.

Is that total possible or just for the charges they're currently indicted for?
I know the FBI won't swear there's no other charges to be places until they can examine the site for signs of any other crimes.

A booby trap or two would significantly up those charges. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys set quite a lot of them.

I think they published youtubes claiming a lot of them... Hope they took them all back down.

God help them if one of the conservationists there to clean up after this fiasco sets one off...

More like Judge help them. That could be capital murder.

I would think cops with experience in those sorts of things would do a preliminary sweep before anyone is allowed to do clean up.

Well, they keep insisting that God and the Constitution and the Law are on their side... Figure the only one that'll still be in their corner after that;d be God.

Right now I've only heard about the conspiracy charges, though that doesn't mean additional charges can't be applied. It does look like the standoff has ended without any dramatic events.

I'll definitely applaud the FBI's handling of the situation
