Find out what morality is should be our concern. If we are wrong, then we have to stop.
Hey everyone,

I'll begin participating in a tabletop RPG next week, and I'm on the stage of creating a new character, her origins and powers. There are currently three sketches in my mind:

1. Lucas Brinn. His real name is F'ell N'aar, he is martian. When he was 5, his mother sent him to earth to save his life from the martian genocide. She telepathically made him believe he was human. He is 19 now and weird things are happening as he finds out his true identity. Martian puberty I guess. His powers are the same as the Martian Manhunter's.

2. The second one doesn't have a name yet. Nor an origin. Sad. But he is a teenager and is on the autist spectrum. He is a very nice detective and stealth specialist. He has the power of evaporating memories of other people and animals, and these memories condensate and fall in the form of a "false" rain. When the drops enter in contact with his skin, he is capable of seeing fragments of those memories.
He is also capable of reviving the past, creating ghosts and objects that were there there before, as long as someone remembers it. Finally, he is partially invisible in the rain.

3. The third one's name is Eros Shellenberg. His mother was a Star Sapphire, which is a sort of green lantern who controls the energy of love instead of willpower. While traveling across the galaxy, she was caught in a supernova, and only managed to survive because of her sapphire. The explosion, however, nearly destroyed the stone and dissipated most of its power.
She later gave birth to Eros, who had the power of the love spectrum in his veins.
His powers awakened whenever he felt love, or the lack thereof.
Mainly, he can cause, share, inflict or steal emotions, sensations and feelings from other people. His beauty is almost supernatural, and he is capable of projecting pink bolts of energy.

Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Please share!

Those sound fairly cool and original.

Some of them seem like kind of random tack-ons, though, like #2 becoming invisible in the rain or #3 being able to fire pink bolts of energy. They don't really fit in with the rest of the powers.

If you have Rapey McRaperson who has the power to fuck with people's minds so they think they're in love with him so that he can rape them, then fine.* Adding in the ability to shoot pink energy bolts just seems kind of arbitrary.

* Is there a second application for that power? I can't think of one. I'd just use it to rape people.

That was done in Bell Book and Candle... in not so many words.

OK, I just googled that one and ya, that bitch is an evil rapist.

The moral of the story that it's OK to slip someone a roofie and rape them as long as you're in love with them and the plotline that they'll fall in love with you in return when they find this out and you'll live happily ever after is a fairly poor moral for a movie to have, as well.

Then again, this was around the same period where Clint Eastwood dragged a mouthy woman off and raped some manners into her in one film, so I don't think Hollywood had a huge problem with rape at the time.
