It’s bad enough that so many right-wingers are hell-bent on blaming blacks for the poverty, racism and violence our nation forces upon them. Now Manning — a black pastor who runs the ATLAH World Missionary Church in Harlem — claims it’s because the cursed “children of Ham” aren’t ready for a black president. In his YouTube video, Manning explains that although he didn’t deserve to win, Barack Obama got elected because white liberals wanted to “make up” for all that slavery.

I'd never heard of anyone referring to blacks as 'Hamites,' before.

Ya, fuck you, white liberals.

You really can't do anything right, can you?

Who did they father these races with? I know in the movie they banged their nieces, but does the Bible actually have some kind of less creepy storyline?

I had. I have no idea who started it. The sons of Noah in the fairy tale were Shem, Ham and Japeth. Shem became the father of all the Semitic people, Ham became the father of all the black people and I guess Japeth was everyone else's daddy.
But Canaan was the one cursed. Which always struck me as odd....
NOAH gets sloppy drunk.
HAM sees naked-Noah.
NOAH curses...his grandson.

Shouldn't that make blacks Canaanites?

I encounter this idea in 4th grade Sunday School at the Southern Baptist church my family attended. Ham was cursed for seeing Noah drunk and naked, and the belief is that the curse is why his descendants had black skin, and other negative qualities ascribed to blacks. My mother also taught 4th grade Sunday School alongside the man who imparted this wisdom to us and, when I told her what he had told the class, she informed me that he was wrong. It was never mentioned in Sunday School again, so i can only assume that she gave him a piece of her mind, away from the class. My mother was a very strong woman, and despite being a devout Southern Baptist, she taught us to be respectful of people of all races.

I always bought in to the vapor canopy theory, wherein the vapor canopy which god collapsed in order to flood the earth used to shield us from the harmful radiation of the sun. Back then everyone had perfect DNA, which is why they lived to be 900+ years old and could bang their sisters without birth defects. After the collapse of the vapor canopy life-spans shortened down to threescore and ten.

Other Christains maintain that since God had not yet made His opinion known, incest either
1) Wasn't a sin, yet
2) Wasn't really incest
So it was okay to marry siblings.

Another told me that marrying cousins was okay, since it's still mostly legal in the US because it's not really incest. Of course, that would contradict the stance that the three bloodlines established different races. If there was no isolation, then they'd all have made the same races.

That's the trouble with those types of apologetics. They sound nice for a minute, but once you look past the end of one fairy tale to the beginning of another you have to come up with something different. The three sons of Noah would have to go their separate ways or cross-pollination would eliminate any chance of arguing that any of them were the father of a particular group of people. And the bizarre Tower of Babel myth opens up by saying everyone was still hanging around in the same place.

I've heard it too, as "sons of Ham".
