I wouldn't want him for a neighbor either.

Next-door neighbors of Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla., that he has called his Winter White House, have a message for the outgoing commander in chief: We don’t want you to be our neighbor.
That message was formally delivered Tuesday morning in a demand letter delivered to the town of Palm Beach and also addressed to the U.S. Secret Service asserting that Trump lost his legal right to live at Mar-a-Lago because of an agreement he signed in the early 1990s when he converted the storied estate from his private residence to a private club. The legal maneuver could, at long last, force Palm Beach to publicly address whether Trump can make Mar-a-Lago his legal residence and home, as he has been expected to do, when he becomes an ex-president after the swearing-in of Joe Biden on Jan. 20.
The contretemps sets up a potentially awkward scenario, unique in recent history, in which a former Oval Office occupant would find himself having to officially defend his choice of a place to live during his post-presidency. It also could create a legal headache for Trump because he changed his official domicile to Mar-a-Lago, leaving behind Manhattan, where he lived before being elected president and came to fame as a brash, self-promoting developer.

The current residency controversy tracks back to a deal Trump cut in 1993 when his finances were foundering, and the cost of maintaining Mar-a-Lago was soaring into the multimillions each year. Under the agreement, club members are banned from spending more than 21 days a year in the club’s guest suites and cannot stay there for any longer than seven consecutive days. Before the arrangement was sealed, an attorney for Trump assured the town council in a public meeting that he would not live at Mar-a-Lago.

Maybe he can move somewhere near a rural area full of Trump supporters! That'll work, assuming he's not in prison. I doubt the other prisoners would want him for a neighbor either, all things considered.

I read somewhere that another issue with Mar-o-Lago is... it is a Golf Course Resort, not a home. I don't mean in the sense that the local tax setup Trump had with the locals indicated he wouldn't use it as a home, but in the sense of, there isn't exactly a lot of space for him and family. First world problems, sure, but ponder how long he can live there.

They don't have homes, though. They have delivery addresses. Bed, bathroom, TV. That's the essentials. For everything else, they get room service or they go to where the toys can be rented.
No books, no art, no music, no room where the family can mingle or celebrate or game... they don't do that unless it's s photo op.
I am sure thry could be sated with a golf course home. Maybe happy....

Wondering if Trump should lose secret service protection. Make his armed psychophants provide his protection.

not just for being trump. Then a future pres might pull Obama's detail, or whoever.
Might be worth an Exec Order that the SecServ doesn't enter a penitentiary to guard the principal. They just cover him in any transport to/from court, depositions, Scared Straight exhibitions at private schools...

And cap the budget for any detail. If he's gonna charge the Service to follow him in a golf cart, and golfs every day, then when they run out of money they stop escorting him anywhere.

Some random apeshittery:

1) Isn't it bizarre that so much of the axle-grease blue collar population (and Appalachia and Dixie) worship Trump, the blond, cheese-complexioned child of privilege and swindling? And germophobe that he is, he would never in a century enter one of their homes in Tutwiler, Mississippi or Soddy-Daisy, TN (pop.8,000). Imagine him sitting down to sup with Martha and Wilbert in Soddy-Daisy:

Trump: What the fuck is this?
Martha: We call it scrapple, Mr. President. Or folks call it pan rabbit. It's powerful good!
Wilbert (mouth full of cracklins): That there's GOOD, Mr. Pres'dut!!
Trump (pushes away from table): Fuck you. I'm not touching that 'pan rabbit' or whatever the fuck it is. Fuck!
Martha: But, Mr. President...
Trump: DON"T TOUCH ME!! Get the fuck away from me! Reince, get my car. We're out of here. (To Wilbert) You. Is there a KFC in this shithole town?

2. My fantasy, and I can't relinquish it.
Trump gets indicted in New York for the same crimes that put Cohen away. He's guilty. He has been so contemptuous of the court during the trial that the judge decides to give him a month in the joint. (Even in my fantasy, I know they won't pack him away for years.) He is sent to Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. Next day's NYT: Trump to Spend Month in Clinton
Next day's NY Daily News: Trump Enters Clinton/Complains about smell, onlookers

As a Florida resident I don't get all the commotion. Trump moving here is like adding a grain of sand to the beach.

There are reasons explained in the link that I posted when I started the OP.

For years, various neighbors have raised concerns about disruptions, such as clogged traffic and blocked streets, caused by the president’s frequent trips to the club. Even before he was president, Trump created ill will in the town by refusing to comply with even basic local requirements, such as adhering to height limits for a massive flagpole he installed, and frequently attempting to get out of the promises he had made when he converted Mar-a-Lago into a private club.

They don't want him as a neighbor because he acts like an asshole, showing a total disregard for the other people who live near him. I have neighbors like that. Naturally they are Trump supporters who still have their Trump signs on the lawn. They are noisy, have trucks parked all over their front lawn, and sometimes there is a huge tractor trailer truck or a travel trailer parked on the front lawn as well. All of my other neighbors are respectful of each other when it comes to keeping the noise level down and not parking cars and trucks all over the front yard. My obnoxious neighbors would be the middle class equivalent of having Trump for a neighbor. :)

It's rare for people like my neighbors to live inside a city limit. They are usually found in rural areas where neighbors are far apart from each other and less of a bother. At least the colder weather is keeping my neighbors from hanging around outside with the base on their music blaring.

God yeah. They also know by revelation that God, not man, gives us our rights, and one of those essential human rights is not to have a wear a 3 x 5" piece of cloth on your face. USA!!!

Reagan got a ranch, paid for by his friends to retire to. Herb Alpanalp and others. I suspect the newly homeless Trump will try to get his rabid followers to do something like this.

even his McDonalds is take-out/ delivery, so he doesn't mix with the commoners too much, His eldest sons actually give the impression of being a little more comfortable doing that sort of thing than dad, who it seems can barely bring himself to mix with them.

Well they're rich so I'm sure they'll be able to kick him out.
