Post Racial America: Voter ID and driver's license office closures black-out Alabama's Black Belt

The closure will not affect ability to get voter ID because all county registrar offices will continue to issue IDs, according to Alabama SOS office.

But how many people know that? It certainly would never have occurred to me to get ID from the voting registration place. I've never even been aware of the registrar's office--I knew it existed but it never occurred to me as a place to register to vote. There's the DMV or the people that show up doing registration drives before every election.

One visit of their Van to each county....wow! Sounds like they are really serious about getting their people to vote. How will the registrar insure that their ID's will be accurate representations of real people? Some other form of identification? Surely they will not take the applicant at his/her word. They just keep rotating the point of denial and sharpening up their skills at voter suppression.
