Questions about the Simulation Hypothesis

To be clear, I am NOT claiming that such simulations are possible, let alone that we are in one.

I'm just suspicious of any claim that they are provably impossible.
IOW, I am agnostic.
It's not necessarily impossible. It's just an unnecessarily complicated explanation compared to the Universe not being a simulation.

(In the following "we" means Swammi along with any other humans "lucky" enough to be along for the ride!)

The peculiar claim is that, statistically,
we are PROBABLY in a simulation.

This reminds me of the hypothesis named after Boltzmann but never seriously espoused by anyone that, statistically,
we are probably brains that arose spontaneously and randomly from cosmic dust.

In both cases the "refutation" is the belief that there really was some sort of Big Bang.

I could imagine in concept: That our universe (or simulation) broken down to it's smallest fundamental sub-divisible state, (wave, particle or whatever etc.) is like some unfathomable sized 3D TV screen, consisting of a vast ocean of red, green, and blue dots.

The most 'interesting' part would be the images formed on the screen. What I mean here is: The images formed on the screen like our universe, would appear to us as being of a physical nature. We would call this physical thing matter.

One thing for sure we do know of the TV screen is that the Images were made by a thinking process. The Images on screen have written rules to maintain various forms and shapes retaining a variety of unique (visual) properties, that distinguishes between various images with individual identities (for lack of articulated vocabulary).

How about about: Electrons, Protons, Nutrons?
Maybe it's a 4 dot screen: Strong Nuclar, Weak Nuclar, Electro/Magnetic, Gravity.
Is it a live picture, or a recorded program (on tape)?

Yes, all of those things could be used as the same example.

(Interesting you come up with recorded program (for another topic perhaps), but I used to imagine there was some relationship between 'electro magnetic fields' and people seeing ghosts or images of the past).
