Rebecca "Get a Fucking Vaccine" Watson on Twitter: "Lots of classic sci-fi reboots coming out. ..." / Twitter
Lots of classic sci-fi reboots coming out. I missed many as a kid so read them as an adult. Brief reviews of the books:
DUNE: very enjoyable YA
FOUNDATION: boring trash from a dude who obviously molested the few women he met
MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS: less fascist than I expected!

I was surprised that Dune was such a fun and easy read. also surprised that I enjoyed Moon i’d a Harsh Mistress bc I knew of his fashy ideals but actually found it fun and weirdly progressive. Foundation was hilariously bad. The sole female character was a bitch who liked jewelry

More from my “sci-fi classics” era:
FAHRENHEIT 451: trash written by a snowflake terrified of women and black people who might point out how awful he is
CONSIDER PHLEBAS: incredibly delightful
ENDER’S GAME: what if Mary Sue was both homophobic, obvious, AND insufferable?

I had committed myself to the white dude “classics” but I (to my legit shock, I’m very forgiving of good writing) found them so embarrassing I mixed in some classic underrated women. Left Hand of Darkness was the best book I read in that time. Phlebas was a close 2nd.
