A new study has found that people question the sexuality of men who engage in ‘feminine’ environmentally friendly behaviours. It’s time we stop pandering to men’s fears, says The Guyliner, and just accept that nothing, not even tote bags, are a signifier of their sexuality

In order to save the planet, we're going to have to masculinize recycling...like, for example, military bags or backpacks for your groceries, recycling bins with basketball hoops on top...maybe some kind of campaign from super models saying recycling is sexy.

It's gay when an article purportedly about a study doesn't include a link to that study. Super gay.

You put “save the planet” and “masculinize recycling” in the same sentence. You did that. Not me.

Hell, “save the planet” alone is laughable enough, but “masculinize recycling” too? I’m not saying it won’t twist some minds and actually encourage a sustained increase in self-motivated recycling, but there’s no amount of masculizing male cheerleading in the world to twist enough minds to think that’s not on the fucked up side of irresponsible masculinization.

Will this idea of yours work? Well, the planet won’t be saved; I think it’s it’s own badass self that’ll do just fine no matter which way this goes, and it might very well produce the kind of result you seek, but it damn sure ain’t gonna turn boys into men—more like make them more environmentally conscious.

Taking two paragraphs to go hyper-literal on a common saying just seems quite... a waste of time.

Or, you could say....gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)
