You are right in the second panel marked "Fake Fantasy," because that is what it is: fake.
I am surprised that it is that low. I think it shows many are either questioning their faith or feeling rather guilty about it.i saw a recent poll where about 25% of christians believe that Heaven is for Christians only. You are right in the second panel marked "Fake Fantasy," because that is what it is: fake.
Yet we are not living in medieval times anymore, but the religions still keep trying to peddle this ancient garbage.I don't see anything wrong with what the religions are preaching - these ideas were born when times & life was totally different - these medieval times ideas
Hmm ...Fake fantasy. What is a real fantasy then? They're both fantasies ..maybe - Or you could really mean; a "fake fantasy" is not actually a (real) fantasy at all and therefore heaven is real!

That is what I was already bringing up above, and constantly talking about in the other similar threads. Christianity just does not market Heaven nearly as the cartoon depicts.Hmm ...Fake fantasy. No one ever asks questions - all religious people get are soft questions like - What will heaven be like? Will we see our loved ones again? Can you describe how (wonderful) heaven will be?
No one asks what one DOES in heaven. What kind of work? How much does it pay? Can we make ends meet in heaven? You understand these questions are silly, so we go back to my point that everything is free in heaven with nothing to do
That's what frightens me about these ideas that not even Atheists ask such questions

I don't know where you're hanging out but I have watched and personally asked such questions for years. Christians provide the same type of pat answers that many Eastern religions do regarding reincarnation.
Watching Western religions and Eastern religions argue about the state of the afterlife is like watching the Special Olympics. Sure, sometimes someone will win, but in the end you're still crippled.
Well, I've heard a variety of answers...all pretty silly. Anyone can go to any number of Christian boards and inquire about this. Not surprisingly, they even discuss this amongst themselves.
Now, how exactly do you honestly know? Have you actually been in a lot of Christian circles to assert such things with any respectable degree of precision? No one ever asks questions - all religious people get are soft questions like - What will heaven be like? Sure, maybe kids ask these. No one asks what one DOES in heaven. What kind of work? How much does it pay? Can we make ends meet in heaven?
And then we come back to me telling you that Heaven is not nearly free, and there will be plenty to do at the woeful pleasure of the insecure god dwelling there. You understand these questions are silly, so we go back to my point that everything is free in heaven with nothing to do
Ha, well, atheists can also be wrong sometimes. That's what frightens me about these ideas that not even Atheists ask such questions
Oh, my, that is hitting a tad below the belt.Watching Western religions and Eastern religions argue about the state of the afterlife is like watching the Special Olympics. Sure, sometimes someone will win, but in the end you're still crippled.
They can not give you many actual answers, because the Bible does not contain much on the subject either, so of course, Christians fill in the numerous blanks for themselves, naturally unauthorized.Well, I've heard a variety of answers...all pretty silly. I am not sure i want to go there. Can you post some? I am curious
I agree with them being silly. One said they pray - that's a pretty long time to be praying. Another said they would find out once they get there.
Most are very generic - "We will be with God", "We will love God", "We will serve God" - the answers going nowhere

The statement is crass, I agree. Nevertheless, it's a good analogy.Oh, my, that is hitting a tad below the belt.Watching Western religions and Eastern religions argue about the state of the afterlife is like watching the Special Olympics. Have you ever witnessed an interfaith panel in action? All participants asserting without apology that their religion is the only correct faith, all dancing around the others in trying no *too* hard to draw attention to each other's flaws lest those flaws in reason turn around and bite them in the ass? It's like watching comic fans argue about which super hero would beat who, except less entertaining because at least the fans of comics take their cannon slightly less seriously.
