As much as I like laughing at the stupid people running for the GOP, their deliberate misinterpretation of the question was a valid response on their part. There are five living Presidents and three of them are Democrats and therefore invlaid responses to the question. That leaves the two Bushes and, given that another Bush is going to be their main opponent, they don't want to give that opponent ammunition by allowing him to claim that the person his opponent thinks is the greatest living President is supporting him.

It was kind of a dumb question which they were correct in ignoring and giving an answer to something else.
