Republicans Freak Out as 'New' Ballots Threaten Florida Senate 'Win'

The Miami New Times reported that the Opa-locka mail distribution center was evacuated in October after Trump megafan Cesar Sayoc allegedly sent pipe bombs that passed through the facility.

That same center reportedly is still home to a huge number of uncounted mail-in ballots. Two sources that spoke to the New Times estimated the total could be in the hundreds or thousands.

And now, apparently, because the mail in one of the Florida distribution centers was not handled properly (was not postmarked when received), and so got processed after the election date, the GOP wants to throw them out.

Florida will hold a machine recount of votes in its neck-and-neck races for the U.S. Senate and governor, with results due by 3 p.m. (2000 GMT) on Thursday, its secretary of state said on Saturday.

Nelson also filed a motion in federal court asking that provisional and absentee ballots not be rejected because election officials deem that the signatures do not match voters’ signatures on file.
The recounts and possible legal challenges mean it could be weeks until a winner is determined in either race.
