Republicans slash funding for agencies then attack them for failing to accomplish their missions

What's aggravating about this story isn't so much what the politicians are saying but that the journalist never once mentions sequester or anything like it as a possible reason some agencies are having trouble performing their core functions.

What we all know is that almost every word spoken by Republicans right now is simply political propaganda.

They have no real policy agenda beyond enabling the rich to acquire more and more. They have no other goals. Not one.

With a Supreme Court majority strongly behind the greater and greater empowerment of corporations the work of Republicans is easier.

The 1% are winning this game. And they are winning big. And millions upon millions are losing big.

But their greed has no bounds and they don't just want to win. They want everything.

A system of power that is rapidly destroying the environment is not a legitimate system of power. It can legitimately be overthrown with force.

Calling them "journalists" is far too generous. Journalism doesn't exist in commercial media. They are ratings whores who parrot biased propaganda and don't bother to contextualize with objective facts and reason because they think that "objective" reporting means not using their own brain. Actually, calling them whores is insulting to sex-workers who actually provide a useful service and give the customer what they paid for.

There was an interesting investigation into sex-workers I saw at one point, about earnings compared to education level. Apparently it's quite an intellectually demanding job, or more specifically, an intellectually demanding job to be good at.

There's nothing new here.
Republicans have been defunding federal agencies and staffing them with incompetents or outright opponents for decades -- then they point to their ineffectiveness as evidence that government is inherently incompetent, and ask for their outright dissolution and replacement with for-profit, private agencies.
