Wow, the rethuglicans are really overtly treasonous...

On Thursday morning, House Intelligence Committee members Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) moved to subpoena the only American witness to President Trump’s secret meeting in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin — the translator.
This was voted down by every Republican on the committee.

Greed over People. They don't care about anything but tax cuts and making America White Again. Traitors.

It is my understanding he is being debriefed, but by who, I don't know.

Just another symptom of the terminal Totally Fucked disease the U.S. is dying from.

Many Republicans feigned outrage at Trump's fellating of Putin earlier in the week, but they're all about covering shit up for him from that exact incident.

The notion, "If you've got nothing to hide, then you have no reason to fear" is reasonable when it applies to public servants because they're under certain legal and ethical duties that have an impact on potentially all of us. Certainly, the witness's testimony would have to be kept confidential until a showing of necessity was made for its disclosure. So if no showing of necessity could be made, what are Republicans so worried about?

Frankly, the Democrats are led by wet blankets. I like Chuck Schumer, but the guy doesn't have the rhetorical skills needed to fire people up. He sounds like my Jewish grandmother lazily, but relentlessly droning on about the temperature of her food. "Uckghhh, this is too hot and now I have to wait for it to cool off and then it won't be fresh and I don't know how these people can stay in business serving such hot food, and don't they know people don't like their food so hot they can't eat it, and didn't the waitress care to tell me it was so hot.." Oh god please shut the fuck up!!!

Anyway...

The Democrats need someone with a fiery style that's impossible to ignore. Obama already proved that sound ideas that would be good for the vast majority of Americans will not stand on their merits if left for others to decide. People need to be told. Thus, without a firebrand, people are never going to hear what the Democrats have to say. Christ, get a professional wrestler in the Senate and just give Schumer's speeches to him to read. I'd prefer the Macho Man ("yeaaahhh!!!!), but that's not possible.

And where the freak is Polosi? She is too old - sorry, she needs to step aside.

Feigned is the right word. I was reading articles saying the GOP was critical of Trump, but that was a very tepid response... and typically only from people not running for re-election. They are definitely providing an amount of cover we've never seen before.

Cory Booker, but we know what happens to some white people if they see a black man with an angry voice. Tim Ryan maybe... in Ohio, he is in a gerrymandered district so safe... and he could lead out for an attempt to transition to majority leader once Pelosi is done. Kamela Harris, but she lacks history. I suppose the other issue is the anger. The Republicans carry the message so much better. There was a lot of pragmatic 'keeping your mouth' shut between '04 and '06 to win majorities in Congress... and that was during an incredibly poor occupation with Americans dying every day in explosions.

She is a money juggernaut and isn't going anywhere.

Actually, I think a more interesting question is :- "Where the fuck is Tom Perez, and what is he doing?"
There's been almost complete silence from the DNC in comparison to the gop and WHenemy.
Okay, listen closely... this espionage thing is complicated. There is not a massive smoking gun as some of this stuff has context and nuance to it.

The pussygrabbing tape... wasn't enough to throw out Trump. His explanation was pathetic, but didn't matter.

Here is the wicked truth. America isn't going to vote out the GOP over the Russia issue unless something huge is discovered. Unlike during Nixon, the Republicans own a media empire, and control the message so that they can guarantee that 35+% of the country is in line with the party.

People will vote against Trump over things like the children snatching. But with Russia, what is known is not nearly enough. Which is why the DNC isn't hanging their hat on it yet.

Fuck, this is just like '03 to '06, everyone wanted impeachment, trials... but the Dems held... and then won in '06. The public then collectively screwed itself in '10 when they bought the latest bullshit from the GOP about their alleged version of the ACA which they effectively rebranded as "Obamacare".

So you're saying they are still in evidence gathering mode? Seems like that is been going on since Nov 2016. But I get what your saying Jimmy - don't tip your hand until they are ready. Meanwhile, Schumer is putting the face to it.

Sen. Cornyn was against this "symbolic" resolution... much unlike his support for yesterday's symbolic ICE resolution.

... Which is why the DNC isn't hanging their hat on it yet.

Does it matter? The GOP slandered Hillary from stem to stern for 25 years, and it was all bullshit. All of it.

We have something here with Trump and Russia, obstruction, the vast corruption of him making a profit off the taxpayers, his sons peddling influence for favors from foreign nations, the way the rapacious piece of shit conducts himself, etc.

These are all real things and the DNC and every goddamn Democrat member of Congress should be screeching about it every single day. The only impediment is that Dems don't have a Fox-like propaganda mouthpiece. There is no Fox equivalent for them. But on every appearance on every single news show, they need to be all over this, all the time.

Part of the reason for their impotence is that the leadership is old. I'm sure they understand what's going on, but they're not effectively doing a damn thing about it. When the Republicans were a minority, they still got shit done because they were willing to violate every rule and norm to do it. They had all those idiotic show hearings to repeal the ACA, filibustered the fuck out of everything, and scared their voters into getting to the polls.

Waiting for facts is a loser's game now. What needs to be done is to sow the seeds of anger in Independents against Trump and the GOP. Trump is Guilty of so much obvious shit, that if only half of it sticks, it would be enough to put anyone else behind bars until the bars rusted and turned to dust. And that needs to be pounded into the people every day with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

Reasoned discourse is always what's to be strived for. But that time has passed. To have reasoned discourse requires two or more parties acting in good faith to achieve something. There's no good faith left.

Facts don't matter and the Republicans have a monopoly on lies.
