He’s saying that Trump should nationalize state police, and stop the voting from going on, and to seize ballots already cast to prevent his loss.

My biggest fear is not that Trump will order such, but that his goons will try to do so. The Brownshirt militias will come out and try to stop people from voting in key democratic areas in swing states like Arizona and Pennsylvania. And Florida and Ohio too. Not sure how to do such.

Waiting for Metaphor to show up here and reassure the world that Donald Trump and his Knights in Shining Armor will do nothing to harm American Democracy, and will conduct themselves honorably in the unlikely event that their all out effort to cheat again in the coming election should fail. Surely this just a case of a well-intended but perhaps slightly misguided True Friend of the Administration expressing (per his 1st amendment right) his personal opinion of an optimal course. Kinda like Trump's opinion that putting Peter Strzok and Hillary Clinton to death is just his opinion. It's really up to Bill Barr, whose Judgment shall be final and unquestionable.

"Peaceful" may be misleading given that Trump cronies will be shredding evidence, committing petty thefts, signing last-minute orders even they weren't brazen enough to enact earlier, and too ashamed of their ignorance and corruption to brief incoming appointees.

I just watched an interview of Scaramucci, who thinks Trump is too cowardly to resist his eviction. But according to that Trump fan-turned-Biden supporter, the Secret Service and U.S. Marines have already met together to plan action if Trump refuses to leave the White House.

The big worry is litigation over election results. Moscow Mitch has stuffed the courts with Kremlin-GOP stooges, but the hope is that if Biden wins, many Republicans will be relieved and discover that they do not want to be, after all, traitors.

But this is all assuming Biden wins. Like Hillary, he would need a big popular vote advantage to get to 270 ev's. The Betfair market shows Biden's chance for victory at a razor-thin 54-46.

Top HHS official accuses scientists of plotting against Trump, tells supporters to buy ammunition

In a Facebook Live video on Sunday, HHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Michael Caputo said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was harboring a “resistance unit" to Trump, The New York Times reported.

The career scientists "haven’t gotten out of their sweatpants except for meetings at coffee shops” to plot “how they’re going to attack Donald Trump,” Caputo said, according to the Times. “There are scientists who work for this government who do not want America to get well, not until after Joe Biden is president.”

Caputo reportedly hosted the event for followers of his personal Facebook page. His comments came after Politico first reported on Friday that top political HHS appointees have been interfering with the publication of CDC's reports on the coronavirus pandemic.

Top House Democrats have now launched an investigation into the matter.

According to the Times, Caputo also warned Trump's followers to be prepared for an armed insurrection, predicting the president would win but that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would refuse to concede the election.

Caputo apologizes to HHS staff, signals desire for medical leave

The health department's top spokesperson Michael Caputo called an emergency staff meeting on Tuesday to apologize for drawing negative attention to the Trump administration's health care strategy and signaled that he might be soon departing his role, according to five people with knowledge of the meeting.

Three people with knowledge of Caputo's decision-making confirmed that he was mulling stepping aside as the department’s assistant secretary for public affairs to take medical leave. One former HHS official told POLITICO that Caputo, a former Trump campaign official, has long complained of the stress caused by having been mentioned in the special counsel's investigation on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

During the meeting with his staff on Tuesday, Caputo made allusions to the fact that HHS had functioned for a long time in the past without a permanent top communications official, said one HHS official.

Caputo also disputed anonymous White House criticism about his mental health — saying that some of his comments have been taken out of context — and concluded the meeting by encouraging his staff to listen to music by the Grateful Dead.

This has to be the best apology I've seen from a Trump official. Low bar I know, but I think Caputo kinda knew his was in so much shit he just went, "Fuck it", and doubled down.
