They're just considering it right now. They're trying to curry favor with him. I wonder why they didn't with Obama? Something tells me there will be a lot of fishy quid pro quod agreements between the two of these guys in the coming years. Some wag pointed out that it's only been 3 weeks of Trump but it already feels like 3 years.

Yeah, certainly not unexpected. The Russians were only doing it to stick a thumb in the previous administrations eye. It's not like they agree with Snowden. Few other country has the power to resist the USA like this. And all those countries would love to have what the NSA has, or they have something similar already. It will be a dark day indeed.

Well, US government can send Snowden to prison in order to discourage future "snowdens". I hope Putin realizes that he would look bad if he sends Snowden to prison.

can he choose the 11th rather than the 9th?

Would Snowden have a judge or a jury trial?

It would be funny as hell if he was not convicted of anything substantial.
