Russian fake news

There is a tendency to blame russian hacking for everything, in fact this is probably fakiest fake story of recent time.
Most fake news sites has nothing to do with russian government. They are schemes created to scam add money from google. During US elections Biggest fake news were traced to bunch of kids in Romania who were distributing fake news people wanted to hear. As for France then french said russian were not involved in the leak, if I remember correctly.
I think governments in general and russian in particular are not competent enough to pull that off on a massive enough scale. Maybe they plant fake stories here and there (like we know CIA does) but they can't compete with teenagers in their basements.

Hear ye, hear ye! The Russian government is now too incompetent to tell a lie! Five-year-old children caught sneaking cookies from the cookie jar mock Russia's inability to decieve! Hundreds of Romanian teens in basements best the incompetent Vladimir Putin in their competancy for fake news!

Uh huh. Well, there's a lot of evidence stacked up against the "fat kids in parent's basement" narrative. Perhaps it's like Putin said, it's just a whole lot of superbly organized, funded and talented freelance "patriots".

Would you mind then, figuring out where this University of Washington team went wrong, why their method of analysis is flawed, and why their final conclusion and summary are so far off, when it's just fat kids in a basement? Thanks.

P.S. It's a long read, I acknowledge, but I'm sure you're up to an in depth rebuttal.

Russian hacking? That's not what they are even saying. And note that this has been going on for a long time.

Your defense of Russia doesn't even make sense this time.

There is no impeachment in progress. The investigation is far from over and a few committee meetings and votes from a debate in congress to then vote on an impeachment trial. Newspaper clippings and a few partial reports are just not enough

Further, news media like the Washington Post, New Yorker and NYT have a habit if confusing an allegation with a fact. They are in the business of selling copy not information. In fact they're not really much better than Info Wars.

The only certainty in this whole affair are two issues:

Perhaps as you have mentioned, or perhaps not which means the same thing.

I think you're either in the wrong topic thread or have gone over the edge entirely , or your programming needs a severe overhaul. Sadly, I cannot tell which of these is most likely.

Must have been a rushed build on the newest version of the bot software, it is Friday after all. Give the devs a bit to put a hotfix through, and things will probably/probably not get back on track.

Same topic from the viewpoint of reality.

Your article DOES mention hacking.

Longer than US meddling in other countries elections?

I defend reality and I always make sense.

Looks like the wrong thread :) Recently I agreed with one poster and found I was replying to my own post.
