English is an analytic language - word place in the sentence determines everything. So word "nagging" could mean different things depending on the place. In that particular case it's syntactically a noun and should be translated into different form "Нытье" ("Nyt'ye")

I recently tried google translate and was amazed how good it was. Apparently in 2016 they switched from so-called statistical machine translation to neural net machine translation. Most of the time it's hard to notice that it was not human. But one funny thing I noticed is when it translates english word into russian word but russian word have additional meaning it tries to apply that meaning back to english version of the sentence and if this new meaning (which english does not have at all) fits then all hell breaks loose.
For example there was an article about woman named Heather and her medical problems with kidneys. Heather is a name of the plant and the word kidney has additional meaning in russian - "bud" (plant bud). So google transtate linked russian word "bud" back to english word Heather and started talking about tree's bud It was funny considering that earlier in the text it knew that Heather was a woman, not a plant, but since NMT (Neural Machine Translation) operates on sentence level it did not remember that.

I understand it's a side effect of the deep NN they use but they should not merge meanings of words in different languages into one.
