Should refugees be women and children only?

If a "nicer place to be" is that because people killing each other is less common, then they are true refugees.

The problem is that it is a nicer place to be ANYWAY even if nobody is killing anybody.

This is the problem with offering permanent citizenship in the best societies on earth as the primary form of refuge. It becomes impossible to tell an economic migrant from a refugee.

We need to offer less attractive solutions to refugees fleeing war zones.

When we offer citizenship in Europe, Australia, Canada, US etc. then it becomes tempting for everybody to pretend to be a refugee.

Some will be refugees. Many will be migrants but even most of the refugees will have been motivated to some degree also by the lottery win of western citizenship. many of these genuine refugees would have left their homes anyway and come to Europe even if there was no war if this offer of citizenship was on the table.

If we instead offer the refugees places in refugee camps in neighbouring MENA countries (funded by the west) then we will see who the real refugees are because that is an offer of refuge from war and nothing more.

It would also save all the aggro and strife in the western host countries that comes from trying to absorb enormous populations of culturally backward people countries with medieval views on social norms.
